But let's connect some dots here.

The newspaper had these in December '08 and choose not to go with the story for whatever reason. Sanford either told his wife about the affair or she found out. Two week ago, she asked him to leave the house. Whispers had apparently going around that there was trouble in the marriage. The fact that Sanford wasn't living at home was going to come out and then the newspaper would have probably run with the story or done some more investigations.

He didn't break it off because he wanted to reconcile with his family, he broke it off because he was going to get caught...And now he has...
