Burger King has done it again with a new ad that Copyranter describes as "the new leading 'most overtly blow-jobby ad' I've ever seen."



Burger King, whose adverts have previously featured in this series not once, not twice, not thrice, but four times, has done it again with a new ad that Copyranter describes as "the new leading 'most overtly blow-jobby ad' I've ever seen."

Fill your desire for something long, juicy and flame-grilled with the NEW BK SUPER SEVEN INCHER. Yearn for more after you taste the mind-blowing burger that comes with a single beef patty, topped with American cheese, crispy onions and the A1 Thick & Hearty Steak Sauce.

It's hard to identify what the best part of this ad is. The appalling lack of subtlety (OPEN MOUTH: INSERT MEAT: HAR HAR!)? The globby mayonnaise suggesting cum? The human woman made up and posed to maximize a resemblance to a blow-up doll? Christ. What a clusterfucktastrophe.

I would argue that BK should be ashamed of themselves, but they clearly lack the capacity.

I am positive something's wrong with BK's meat...some months back my wife decided it would be fun to go to BK and get the New Steakhouse Burger. After eating this nasty-ass sandwich I came home and asked, right here on DU, if this thing wasn't actually vegan. It tasted and felt exactly like the old Morningstar Farms soy burgers they had before they knew how to make them edible.

As for the model...with that makeup job, she had to know it was something sexually-themed. Kinda hard to get painted up like a harlot and NOT be aware of that, knowhutImeanvern?

I always took it at face value, that they were using their hands to indicate how long the sub was - a foot long. Kind of like when fishermen will use their hands to indicate the size of that fish who somehow got away from them.

There's lots of subtle suggestiveness in today's ads, but I never really considered this to be one of them. I suppose some people COULD see it that way, I just don't.

Any proof this ad isn't a joke? Can anyone point to anywhere this ad actually ran?

UPDATE: more info appears to be at http://contexts.org/socimages/2009/06/24/burger-king-super-seven-incher-ad-will-blow-you-away/ -- it looks to have been done by a singapore company for their local audience, and is not "corporate approved" if that site is correct.

(Though it occurs to me that this could also be a kind of stealth viral marketing campaign.)
