Sanford on why he voted to impeach Clinton, "I think what he did in this matter was reprehensible"
Sanford Was Harsh Critic Of Clinton Affair

The standard Sanford has set for other politicians over the years has been fairly high. A member of the House of Representatives during the heyday of the Clinton-Lewinsky affair, he was often a harsh critic of the president for his marital misconduct.

This is "very damaging stuff," Sanford declared at one point, when details of Clinton's conduct became known. "I think it would be much better for the country and for him personally (to resign)... I come from the business side," he said. "If you had a chairman or president in the business world facing these allegations, he'd be gone."

Explaining his decision to back impeachment articles against Clinton, he added, "I think what he did in this matter was reprehensible... I feel very comfortable with my vote."

2. I want each of these asshole Republicans to publicly apologize to Bill Clinton
and to the country, for the time and money they wasted on Clinton's personal life.

4. It's funny isn't it, how each and every of these hypocritical bastards dragged this country
into a Constitutional crisis, all the while carrying on in the same manner.

They are a bunch of hypocritical thugs!

5. My bet is he does not
The LORD forgives all sins, right? And because Sanford is a Christian, at least nominally, the LORD is right there for him.

He'll invoke Jesus a few times, call himself a fallen angel, and his constituents will forgive him. And he'll go right back to governing. Poorly.

9. The LORD forgives all Republican sins
Republicans are like Pete and Delmar in Oh Brother, Where art thou? They've been washed in the blood of the lamb; all their earthly sins have been washed clean.

6. The case against Clinton was tried in two ways - one publicly and relentessly

in the press and it was all about morals. The other was in the House and Senate and it was about lying.

I believe Sanford participated plenty about the morality, then turned around and got him for lyhing. I believe every single one of them did from Henry Hyde to Livingston. Then we have Tom DeLay taking off for Palau to visit his friend who runs the slave factory which DeLay praised as entrepreneurial. The side story was the prostitution when the slave factory was closed for the night. He brought a group of people with him - paid for by taxpayers, presumably.

Wonderful morals.
