15. You know I wonder if there is any thought given to reduction of costs

of Medicare IF people prior to age 65 had decent healthcare coverage? I really wish people in power like Grassley would stop grumbling long enough to consider the overall healthcare savings with a good cradle to death policy. It's like spending money on a new refrigerator that is efficient....cost savings over the years will greatly defray if not overcome the original cost.

11. I am an Iowan. Am working with groups for single payer.

We have been calling Grassley's office for months.
Recently he was quoted as saying that Iowans were happy with the current system.
Now I know at least a hundred people who call weekly. I am sure there are thousands who call to demand a public option.
So I called yet again to his Cedar Rapids office and told his staffer to please write down this message:
"60% of Iowans want a public option according to a recent poll. Senator, at a minimum tell the truth and quit representing Iowans as stupid."

12. Thanks for the information. I'm not a constituent but I'm going to

call his office now. As your fellow Iowan wrote, this is beyond the pale.

edit: Just called his office 202-224-3744. After fifteen rings it was answered and I asked if what we heard on MSNBC, no to public option this morning was true. The aide said, "Yes". So, I asked him 1) to surrender his taxpayer subsidized healthcare policy and 2) that if Medicare is a public option that he ought to consider the benefits of giving that option earlier in life to contribute to the reduction of healthcare costs after the age of 65 when Medicare kicks in.

The aide said he would pass this on but......................
