What was SANFORD's point--that he has absolute power, able to do what and when he wants without being accountable to anybody?!1
It was absurd for his LT Gov to tell SHUSTER that SANFORD "deserved" some time off---what, withOUT passing the, um, "power" (DUTY) on to somebody else, for example, THE LT GOVERNOR?!1
Molly IVINS taught to the wilderness (since nobody listened to her) that Texas is a "Weak Governor Style" state, but apparently all of these fuckheads believe the title is actually imperial. Years ago, Governor GOODHAIR's chauffeur-driven vehicle was stopped by troopers for speeding, and the trooper got a filthy mouthed chewing out by GOODHAIR. So much for this being a country where nobody is above the law.
As for SANFORD -----------WHO can "disappear" from their workplace for four days without explanation?!1 Oh, wait, Shrub was AWOL from military service and PAID NO PRICE, even got Dan RATHER fragged for telling (repeating) the (already well known) truth.
Shrub, Goodhair, PALIN, and now SANFORD---so much for state governors being a better pool for executive office.
