Oh, Henry....Yoo Hoo, Paging Congressman Waxman
Edited on Fri Apr-06-07 08:45 AM by Rose Siding
via a muckraking Kossack

Last year Dragon Skin, a potentially -and reportedly- improved life saving body armor entered a testing phase at the Pentagon, under the direction of Col. John D. Norwood. Testing was "abruptly stopped less than a third of the way through the tests. No reason was given. The testing has not been resumed."

The company that made out on that decision (with a $360 million contract last year) was Armor Holdings whose armor "shatters" when impacted, while the lighter weight Dragon Skin "has been shown to be capable of stopping multiple rounds fired from close range without significant damage to the armor".

Norwood has swished through the revolving door, leaving the military to find his fortune in the private sector-

Col. (Ret.) John D. Norwood is now a Vice President of Armor Holdings' Aerospace and Defense Group

I guess I'll have to call directly.
If you're not in Waxman's district, it redirects you to your local rep who, esp if it's someone like David, send you a "thank you for writing but we don't agree with you" letter. Contact Waxman DIRECTLY!

11. That is a matter of perspective.
I'm sure plenty of big corporate schmucks think they did.

10. Not only that but the use of Dragon Skin was declared to be cause to invalidate GI life insurance!
IIRC, don't have time to look for the link right now, I'm in the cube.

13. Just sent this to Representitive Waxman...
Dear Sir:

Many thanks for your tireless devotion in conducting oversight. There is another issue surfacing that I believe deserves attention.

Norwood has swished through the revolving door, leaving the military to find his fortune in the private sector at, of course -- Armor Holdings' Aerospace and Defense Group.

I smell more than impropriety.

Thank you for your time.
Respectfully,

xxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxx

Thank you for rooting this out Rose Siding!
