Calling all Community Activists, Past and Present
This is especially for those of you who became reluctant ca's and stumbled your way through the process learning the ropes as well as the networks. If you weren't a lawyer, if you didn't know someone in the ACLU and, instead, hit deadends with every effort you made to get help, wasn't there always a nagging suspicion in your mind that there was a political obstacle that you, as an individual, could never breach without making things worse for your family?

Just look at the Greatest page today:

NASA
A Bushie 2002 appointee, "NASA's top watchdog routinely tipped off department officials to internal investigations and quashed a report related to the Columbia shuttle explosion to avoid embarrassing the agency, investigators say."

FEDERAL SCIENTIST
"Federal climate, weather and marine scientists will be subject to new restrictions as to what they can say to the media or in public, according to agency documents released today by Public Employees for Environmental Responsibility (PEER). Under rules posted last week, these federal scientists must obtain agency pre-approval to speak or write, whether on or off-duty, concerning any scientific topic deemed “of official interest.”"

FEDERAL PROSECUTORS
Three federal prosecutors, (who would definitely know if political networks exist), demote themselves, rather than subject themselves to the agenda of one Rachel Paulose, a Bushie loyalist.

Is there anyone here who has a doubt that these political hi-jackings occur at the local level too? And that there is definitely an organized attempt to appoint "scholes" or "schills" to strategic community positions to make sure that hidden agendas continue unimpeded by the pesky public?

Schills or scholes = part mole, part shill, all schmuck.

11. Put my summer tires on the 29th, and
now have near 14 inches of snow so far and expecting another 8 to 10 by tomorrow! I'm not leaving my driveway! Couple years ago it cost me $60 to get pulled 10 feet out of the end when an April Fool's blizzard hit.

Damn, hope the Easter Bunny can get me candy through this snow!

12. My hubby keeps telling me that I should tolerate the crap I experience
in this community, because I haven't yet experienced a real northeastern winter.

So I guess my calling is to stay and fight a passive resistant battle.

Well, now you got me hungry for a chocolate rabbit.

13. Marshmallow Peeps!
I quit taking crap here years ago, if someone feeds me crap, I shovel it back on them. I used to be very passive. :)

Have a great weekend!

7. Thanks, cascagraphic!
It's an issue I've been trying to drive home for sometime. If all politics are local, then the system of corruption we're seeing on a federal level has deep roots in every part of this nation. So, I say we track them down to their caves!

And, I might add, I've found a den of thieves hiding out in my own backyard.
