actually, its Holland MI. The storms that just came thru were whoppers.

HOLLAND, Mich. (WOOD) - On 24 Hour News 8, Holland Mayor Al McGeehan put out a alert for residents in Holland to stay off the roads.

"Holland is under water," McGeehan told 24 Hour News 8. The mayor says he has reports of many streets being flooded and to stay off the roads.

1. Allegan is full of water too but Holland seems to have taken the brunt of the storms.

I drove thru this morning..trees down lines down..9000 people without power still...hey Im right by you.

Thunder last night rattled the crockery ... and my fillings, too. Some of the loudest thunder I've ever heard.
Lightning and rain came tonight. Strange. And it keeps on coming.
THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN DETROIT/PONTIAC HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
LIVINGSTON COUNTY IN SOUTHEAST MICHIGAN
MACOMB COUNTY IN SOUTHEAST MICHIGAN
OAKLAND COUNTY IN SOUTHEAST MICHIGAN
SOUTHERN ST. CLAIR COUNTY IN SOUTHEAST MICHIGAN

* UNTIL 830 AM EDT SATURDAY

* AT 1041 PM EDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED
A LARGE AREA OF THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCING HEAVY RAINFALL EXTENDING
BACK TO LAKE MICHIGAN. THIS AREA WAS MOVING EAST AT 30 MPH.
SOME STORMS COULD PRODUCE UP TO TWO INCHES OF RAINFALL IN AN HOUR.
WIDESPREAD TWO INCHES OF RAINFALL IS LIKELY WITH LOCAL AREAS RECEIVING
UP TO FOUR INCHES OF RAIN BY 7 AM SATURDAY.

* RUNOFF FROM THIS EXCESSIVE RAINFALL WILL CAUSE FLASH FLOODING TO
OCCUR. SOME LOCATIONS THAT WILL EXPERIENCE FLOODING INCLUDE...
ALGONAC...BRIGHTON...FOWLERVILLE...HARTLAND...HOLLY...HOWELL...
MILFORD...MOUNT CLEMENS...NEW BALTIMORE...NOVI...OXFORD...
PINCKNEY...PONTIAC...RICHMOND...ROMEO...SOUTHFIELD...ST. CLAIR...
ST. CLAIR SHORES...TROY...WARREN...ARMADA...BIRMINGHAM...
CLARKSTON...COHOCTAH...GREGORY...HAMBURG...MACOMB TOWNSHIP...MARINE
CITY...MARYSVILLE AND MEMPHIS.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

EXCESSIVE RUNOFF FROM HEAVY RAINFALL WILL CAUSE FLOODING OF SMALL
CREEKS AND STREAMS...HIGHWAYS AND UNDERPASSES. ADDITIONALLY...COUNTRY
ROADS AND FARMLANDS ALONG THE BANKS OF CREEKS...STREAMS AND OTHER LOW
LYING AREAS ARE SUBJECT TO FLOODING.

BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE THE
DANGERS OF FLOODING. IF FLASH FLOODING IS OBSERVED ACT QUICKLY. DO
NOT ENTER THE WATER. TURN AROUND AND MOVE UP TO HIGHER GROUND TO
ESCAPE FLOOD WATERS. DO NOT STAY IN AREAS SUBJECT TO FLOODING WHEN
WATER BEGINS RISING.

3. I was watching the weather in Holland
You took the brunt of it, but down here in southwestern lower MI we must have 4 new inches of rain. I have an outdoor wedding to put on tomorrow, I'm going to tell people to bring sail boats and waders!

Im on the lake in SW MI...south of holland, about 35 min. we didnt get it as bad as holland either.

6. iowa,southern wisconsin,and northern il is under water
i drove through a 70 mile wide rain storm that dumped at least a one to two inches of rain and some areas there must have been more. i`m estimating at least 3 or 4 inches in many areas in the last 24 or so hours.
