3. his situation and response to it has become pathetic...
That is very uncomfortable for kind, compassionate people to watch, but that certainly doesn't mean he didn't bring it on himself...I feel sad for the waste of his potential and the shell of a man his "ethical sellouts" have produced...

I think he may well be in seriously declining health, however.

9. I do too. I never like or trusted him. It used to make me
cringe to hear Democrats from Wellstone to Kerry to Feingold to Obama call him their friend all the while feeling that he was totally out for himself. That said it's hard to watch. When you hear him on Imus he has really lost his wit.

5. Yup. Yet he still beats some of our Dems in some polls.
McCain (48%) Clinton (41%)
McCain (38%) Edwards (47%)
McCain (44%) Obama (44%)
(Ras polls)

America has elected impaired Presidents before, there is no reason they won't do it again.

15. That's true. I believe would probably
sell his best friend for a nickel, but like all public figures he projects a human face and it's natural to feel some empathy for him. I wouldnt feel bad for him at all if I didnt think he was impaired. Since I take pleasue at Bush's impairment, it isnt a senitment that I feel for all fucke up Republcians.

who lost their lives as a result of McCain's little stunt. He needs to just crawl into a hole at this point.

16. And they knew it was coming, too. They even said that the stunt
was putting their lives in danger, but McC had to have his vain PR stunt.

17. McCain is...
...nuttier than a ten-pound box of peanut brittle.

...and that's a whole lotta nutty.

I get the feeling that he went off the deep end after Junior insulted him
and his child--and then was forced to hug and grope Junior on the campaign
trail.

We'll never know why McCain made the choices he did.

We just know that he's now a human pistachio.

20. If by impaired, you mean MENTALLY impaired, I'd agree with you.
Here's a little bit from Mr. Straight-talker himself during the Clinton impeachment:

<snip>

All of my life, I have been instructed never to swear an oath to my country in vain. In my former profession, those who violated their sworn oath were punished severely and considered outcasts from our society. I do not hold the President to the same standard that I hold military officers to. I hold him to a higher standard. Although I may admit to failures in my private life, I have at all times, and to the best of my ability, kept faith with every oath I have ever sworn to this country. I have known some men who kept that faith at the cost of their lives.

I cannot--not in deference to public opinion, or for political considerations, or for the sake of comity and friendship--I cannot agree to expect less from the President.

Most officers of my acquaintance would have resigned their commission had they been discovered violating their oath. The President did not choose that course of action. He has left it to the Senate to determine his fate. And the Senate, as we all know, is going to acquit the President. As much as I would like to, I cannot join in his acquittal.

http://www.cnn.com/ALLPOLITICS/stories/1999/02/12/senate.statements/mccain.html

It's obvious that these same standards don't apply when it comes to Bush.

22. By impaired I mean looking like he is
developing dementia. He has had his chance to show some character and he hasnt done much of that in the past couple yrs.

Ha ha--- I posted this as an accidental double post (from the Malloy thread) and I have never gotten this much response to any thread I ever posted. I dont feel THAT bad for him.

24. I think you're right. I really wonder about the Old Boy.
I've seen some recent photos. He has something wrong with his cheeks; they get really big & fat, he looks like a chipmunk. I think he has tumours (?) or cancer on his cheeks. So he gets operated on, consistently.

Really weird, also notice how his hair has become snow white.

And they actually consider HIM as a presidential candidate??? In their dreams.

25. Yeah I'm pretty heartbroken about these republican politicians
who continue to value their 'global war on terror' rather than the life of some small town kid whose butt has been shot right out from under him for the sake of one lie after another.
