The last confession of E. Howard Hunt: US government/CIA team murdered JFK
The last confession of E. Howard Hunt: US government/CIA team murdered JFK
By Larry Chin
Online Journal Associate Editor

Apr 3, 2007, 01:25

The April 5 issue of Rolling Stone features the deathbed confession of CIA operative and key Bay of Pigs/Watergate/Nixon administration figure E. Howard Hunt, The Last Confession of E. Howard Hunt by Erik Hedegaard. This piece is significant not only for its exploration of Hunt, but for breakthrough information that appears to thoroughly corroborate the work of key John F. Kennedy assassination researchers and historians.

Who killed JFK?

According to Hunt’s confession, which was taken by his son, St. John (“Saint”) Hunt, over the course of many personal and carefully planned father-son meetings, the following individuals were among the key participants:

Lyndon B. Johnson: LBJ, whose own career was assisted by JFK nemesis J. Edgar Hoover (FBI), gave the orders to a CIA-led hit team, and helped guide the Warren Commission/lone gunman cover-up.

Cord Meyer: CIA agent, architect of the Operation Mockingbird disinformation apparatus, and husband of Mary Meyer (who had an affair with JFK).

David Atlee Philips: CIA and Bay of Pigs veteran. Recruited William Harvey (CIA) and Cuban exile militant Antonio Veciana.

William Harvey: CIA and Bay of Pigs veteran. Connected to Mafia figures Santos Trafficante and Sam Giancana.

Antonio Veciana: Cuban exile, founder of CIA-backed Alpha 66.

Frank Sturgis: CIA operative, mercenary, Bay of Pigs veteran, and later Watergate figure.

David Morales: CIA hit man, Bay of Pigs veteran. Morales was also a figure involved with the assassination of Robert F. Kennedy.

Lucien Sarti: Corsican assassin and drug trafficker, possible “French gunman,” Grassy Knoll (second) shooter.

19. A snip from the article about Papa Bush's connection
Hunt to Nixon to Bush

The Rolling Stone piece fails to go after the roles of Richard Nixon and George Herbert Walker Bush. But the Hunt confession, if accurate, leads directly to them, to their lifelong associates, and all the way to the present George W. Bush administration.

The Dallas-Watergate-Iran-Contra connection has been thoroughly documented by the key JFK researchers, and in particular, in the work of Peter Dale Scott, one of the very first to show the deep political continuity across three decades. Daniel Hopsicker’s Barry and the Boys goes into even more detail on the players.

Consider the career of George H.W. Bush. He was a Texas oilman (Zapata Oil) and a CIA operative, involved with the Bay of Pigs. Bush’s name was found in the papers of George DeMohrenschildt, one of Lee Harvey Oswald’s CIA handlers. As documented by Pete Brewton, author of The Mafia, the CIA and George Bush, Bush was deeply connected with a small circle of Texas elites tied to the CIA and the Mafia, as well as the Florida-based CIA/anti-Casto Cuban exile/ Mafia milieu As Richard Nixon’s hand-picked Republican National Committee chairman, and later as CIA director, Bush constantly covered-up and stonewalled for his boss about Watergate, which itself (by the admission of Frank Sturgis and others) was a cover-up of the JFK assassination.

Tracking any of the individual CIA operatives involved with the Bay of Pigs, it is impossible to ignore or deny direct connections to George H.W. Bush and his crime family, across the Kennedy assassinations, covert operations in Indochina and, later, Latin America.

39. exactly - excellent info
The old conspiracy maven Mae Brussel used to assert that the evidence stolen during the Watergate
burglary involved Nixon's direct link to the JFK assassination.

When you see all the links, it does make one think.

55. The "Bay of Pigs thing" on the Watergate tapes was the JFK assassination.
So says H. R. Haldeman.

If you listen to the tapes, Nixon sounded really freaked out about the "Bay of Pigs thing" getting out.

I think that 18 1/2 minute gap was discussion of how to best cover up the Kennedy assassination.

Just recently January 2007 CIA documents have come out proving George Bush was involved with the Agency since 1953.

Since he claimed he'd never worked with them until his Director appointment by Ford, I wonder what else he is lying about.

97. FACT # ONE: Hunt worked for Nixon. Fact # TWO Hunt is a LIAR. #3 is
Nixon was in the chain of command, number 2 under the commander-in-chief Eisenhower. And, we know for fact that Hunt worked for Nixon/RNC in the Watergate burglary.

It is no surprise that he tries to finger Johnson and hide the culpability of his superiors, Nixon, et.al.

Fact # 3. RFK was going to take the White House away from Nixon, not Johnson. I worked for RFK's campaign and went to sllep one night knowing we had won the US Presidential election for all practical purposes.

My loud alarm radio awoke me at the top of the hour the next morning with this headline, "Senator Kennedy is dead." America has not been the same since.

5. In 2003 when we were shown all kinds of films that were shown
at the 40th anniversary of the assassination, I kind of trembled and 'knew' that what they were suggesting about the Marseilles connection was true. So here it is - the name on this list.

When you think about the coordination and the number of players it took to pull this off - including the doctors who allowed the extra bullet to be found on the gurney and the hush-hush transfer of his body (we think it was his body) and the hush-hush of the examinations, it makes me want to vthrow up.

Every time I remember all the replays of the Johnson telephone calls to Jackie Kennedy, I want to throw up.

Every time someone rushes in to ridicule anyone who says that Oswald could not do it, I want to throw up.

Every time that I think of the CIA coordinating it with the Cuban terrorists, I want to throw up.

Well, we'll have to see if this is the truth. We've been lied to for decades in the most ugly deceptive way.

They've gotten away with way too much. No wonder they are so cocky.

kill Communist labor organizers on the docks in Southern France. That might explain the use of a "French Connection" shooter.

Mary Pinchot Meyer, Cord's ex-wife, was murdered in an unsolved shooting in Georgetown several months before the JFK assassination.

A lot of people in the Kennedy/CIA/Washington Post social circle died that year: http://72.14.209.104/search?q=cache:zoE7z0aWMrIJ:en.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_Truitt

James Truitt (died 18 November 1981) was an United States journalist, born in Chicago, Illinois and raised by a prominent family in Baltimore, Maryland.

He served as a Naval officer in the Pacific theatre of World War II, then returned to work for the US State Department. He married his first wife, Anne, in September 1947 in Washington, D.C. In spring of 1948 he went to work for Life Magazine in New York, then became their Washington correspondent. He spent 3 years with Life in San Francisco, then he returned to Washington, DC in May 1960 to become the personal assistant to Phillip Graham at the Washington Post, where he rose to become vice president. He also worked for Time, served as publisher of Art News, and became vice president of Newsweek in 1964. He sported a crew-cut haircut, was friends with Cord Meyer and James Angleton, and was known for his intelligence, eccentricity, and social graces.

In 1962 Mary Pinchot Meyer, (Cord Meyer's ex-wife) told Truitt that she was having an affair with President Kennedy. Truitt made notes of the conversation, which years later he showed to journalist Jay Gourley. The notes recorded an episode in July 1962 when Mary Pinchot and President John F. Kennedy smoked marijuana, and include mention of Mary forgetting her slip after one visit and having it mailed back to her in a White House envelope.

In early 1963, Truitt helped extricate Phillip Graham from an ill-advised appearance at a publishers' conference in Arizona, where Graham mentioned Kennedy's affair. {Deborah Davis, 3rd ed. 1991, p. 154} Graham committed suicide on August 3, 1963. Katharine Graham assumed ownership of the Washington Post.

Later in 1963 Truitt left the Post and moved to Tokyo as the Japan bureau chief for Newsweek. There, Anne Truitt received news that her Vassar classmate and friend, Mary Pinchot Meyer, had been murdered. Anne called James Angleton to see that Meyer's diary was taken care of, per her wishes.

11. That whole Bay of Pigs thing
H. R. Haldeman, in his book, "The Ends of Power," cites several conversations where Nixon expressed concern about the Watergate affair becoming public knowledge and where this exposure might lead. Haldeman writes:

"In fact, I was puzzled when he told me, 'Tell Ehrlichman this whole group of Cubans is tied to the Bay of Pigs.' After a pause I said, 'The Bay of Pigs? What does that have to do with this ?' But Nixon merely said, 'Ehrlichman will know what I mean,' and dropped the subject."

Later in his book, Haldeman appears to answer his own question when he says, "It seems that in all of those Nixon references to the Bay of Pigs, he was actually referring to the Kennedy assassination."

In taped conversations with Haldeman, Nixon is obviously worried about what would happen if Hunt's involvement in the Watergate burglary came to light. Nixon says, "Of course, this Hunt, that will uncover a lot of things. You open that scab, there's a hell of a lot of things, and we feel that it would be very detrimental to have this thing go any further...But, you can say, this is sort of a comedy of errors, bizarre, without getting into it, the President believes that it is going to open the whole Bay of Pigs thing up again."

85. Gaeton Fonzi connected CIA to Oswald
A True Patriot of the United States of America, Gaeton Fonzi investigated the JFK assassination for the House Select Committee on Assassinations. He wrote in "The Last Investigation" that the CIA was directly involved through the actions of David Atlee Phillips, AKA "Maurice Bishop," who worked with many in the anti-Castro Cuban community, Operation 40, JM/WAVE, and the CIA station in Mexico City.

Interview with Gaeton Fonzi

EXCERPT...

SB: Let's talk about Maurice Bishop. We have our doubters on CompuServe, as you know ...

GF: I really don't keep up with it, you know. Every once in awhile I go in there and check my mail. After spending time working on a piece in front of a computer most of the day, the last place I want to be ...

SB: I understand. A lot of people want to know if there is anything that you've found since the investigation, that convinces you even more now of the identity of Maurice Bishop?

GF: Yes, as a matter of fact, I was just down in Cuba in January working on a piece for Esquire, on Castro assassination attempts, and spent some time with General Escalante, the former Chief of Counter-Intelligence and former head of State Security. I was given a guided tour, as it were, of some of the places that were involved in Castro assassination attempts, including Veciana's - the one that Veciana organized in October of '61.

From his files, it took place in a building from across the North Plaza of the old palace. That apartment was used as a CIA safe house, it appeared, before Veciana's mother-in-law leased it. And, Phillips was seen going in and out of it. He provided a number of other confirmations of Bishop as David Atlee Phillips, and Phillips as Bishop.

SB: Really?

GF: There's no doubt in the Cuban Intelligence records that Bishop is David Atlee Phillips.

SB: Interesting, even in interviewing someone you named "Ron Cross," at JM/Wave, he corroborated that, didn't he? Am I mis-phrasing it?

GF: Yeah, he said basically that he remembered Phillips using the name Bishop.

Interesting point about that because, after my article came out and I was using "Ron Cross" to cover-up Crosier's name, Phillips went on television and I think he gave a press interview to someone. And he said that you couldn't believe what this fellow Crosier had said because he had been a drunk, an alcoholic, which he admitted to us and I include that in the book.

But I found it interesting that Phillips revealed his real name.

In violation, I would think, of CIA protocol at least.

SB: Wasn't McCone's initial reaction was that he was also familiar ... and then he quickly changed his story?

GF: Yeah, a couple of the investigators had interviewed McCone and he thought he remembered "Bishop" being used by one of the CIA people, and then the Committee got a letter from the CIA liaison saying that they had reviewed McCone's statement, and that he said that he was mistaken.

CONTINUED...

http://cuban-exile.com/doc_001-025/doc0007.html

That's not to say the CIA pulled the trigger. It's just interesting how many, uh, loose threads are held by certain top spooks. Wish we could ask the late Mr. Angleton what he knew:

http://www.ctka.net/pr900-ang.html

There are some we can still interview.

Odds are testifying under oath wouldn't phase him,
but there are other techniques his ilk have pioneered.

I have a tremendously high opinion of him.

Right now I'm reading "Executive Action"--his "fictional" (in the same way that the Warren Commission is "factual") account of President Kennedy's assassination. (I think he sort of disowned this work, but I want to read everything he wrote on the subject).

I haven't seen the movie version but I'd like to. Mark Lane is a great man.

18. if the two greatest crimes of our time -- JFK and 9/11 -- were indeed inside jobs . . .
that certainly puts to rest the myth of the United States as the "gold standard" for democracy in our fucked up world . . .

add in a few stolen elections, illegal wars, rendition and torture and all the rest, and it appears that most everything we were taught about our government in grade school was nothing but fiction . . .

90. Exactly. The US is just a big profitable war machine.
Just as Eisenhower warned us about in his farewell "Military-Industrial Complex" speech.
President Kennedy was ending the cold war and pulling all US personnel out of Vietnam.

He died and LBJ gave his corporate backers--Brown & Root (later called Halliburton)--their war.
Bush2 stole the election and immediately came up with a new Pearl Harbor, 911, to justify war.

The common denominator: war and profit.

On the upside, it's not complicated...

Hoover was a Knight of Malta and so are others in this group.

JFK's father was a KOM and they thought that JFK would go along with their agenda. When the Bay of Pigs went sideways, they surely convened a tribunal and sentenced him.

Until Castro took over, the Church, Knights of Malta and the Italian Mafia controlled Cuba. It was a money machine.

51. Their Will Be Done, by Martin A. Lee in motherjones....
http://www.motherjones.com/news/feature/1983/07/willbedone.html

BTW, the Catholic/Jesuit origins of the 'Left Behind' eschatology tie in nicely with today's Christian Zionist movement a.k.a. 'Bush's base',

The Catholic Origins of Futurism, Preterism
http://www.aloha.net/~mikesch/antichrist.htm

which, since the creation of the state of Israel, has been the end times view of most Protestant seminaries and evangelical groups in the US. This is odd considering Martin Luther's version of who/whom, precisely, the biblical antichrist would be ('Historicism'). I understand Catholics view preterism, that Nero was the antichrist, is their predominant view currently.

In any event, Bush's Middle East perspective is colored with the futurist end times point of view:

Their beliefs are bonkers, but they are at the heart of power--
US Christian fundamentalists are driving Bush's Middle East policy

65. What an interesting mixture....
The Mother Jones article seems to have some basis in fact.

But the second one insists that "Left Behind" is the result of a cunning Jesuit plot.

In what could only be described as a stunning reversal, Protestants have over time actually become the papacy's greatest ally by spreading its Jesuit spawned propaganda. What irony that Protestants, who originally broke away from what they clearly recognized to be the harlot antichrist led church of prophecy, now champion the Futurist interpretation from high profile global ministries.

Good stuff!

Yes, the Politicized Christian Fundamentalists are highly influential. (Many Fundamentalists avoid politics.) But, although these Nutcases have allied with the Church concerning abortion & gay rights, they remain essentially anti-Catholic.

I just don't see the connection.

But I'm sure Dan Brown could!

80. Christian Zionism and the Third Temple are essential to *'s base
The connection you don't see is that Futurism (the 'left behind' eschatology endtimes viewpoint) REQUIRES that a Third Temple be build on the Temple Mount. This would also require the Al Aqsa Mosque and Dome of The Rock to be removed. This would tend to upset Muslims (to say the least !).

The Jesuit-inspired Futurism that Protestants now have allied themselves with to the Catholic Church's original position, the other being Preterism (that Nero was the antichrist), are not essentially anti-Catholic, as you say. On abortion and gay rights, they're right in lockstep.

Read this PBS Religion and Ethics story,

Impact of Millennium on the Holy Land
January 7, 2000 Episode no. 319
http://www.pbs.org/wnet/religionandethics/week319/cover.html

The potential for mischief due to a 'Third Temple' cannot be overstated. In fact, in 1980 a Jewish zealot shot many Muslims at the Temple Mount site; numerous riots over the mere mention of archaeological digging near the Temple Mount have occurred.

This suggests those who believed and theroized the Conspiracy was because of JFK turning against
overthrowing Castro after the Cuban Missile crisis and Involved those Involved In plots to assassinate Castro. It's very possable Oswald was made to be the fallguy to blame It on Castro but eather because the Oswald Impossenators couldn't get a Visa to go Into Cuba or because the leader of the conspiracy decided to only get rid of Kennedy. My only skeptism here Is Johnson being described as the mastermind but It Is withen the realm of possabilty. As for the Bushes It remains a chance Poppy was one of those Involved.

leading the case.

"Concluding with a possible explanation for the failure to explore the profound discrepancies in the physical evidence in the case, the program details the intelligence backgrounds of the two LAPD officers in charge of Special Unit Senator’s day-to-day operations. (SUS was the LAPD “investigative” unite put together to oversee the legal inquiry into Kennedy’s killing.)..."

and

"the alleged presence in the Ambasssador Hotel of David Morales, CIA Chief of Operations and a veteran of JMWAVE, the CIA’s anti-Castro station in Miami; the alleged presence in the Ambassador of both Gordon Campbell and George Joannides, like Morales, veterans of JMWAVE"

Joannides figures prominently in the Oswald/JFK assassination in Joan Mellen's book A Farewell To Justice, www.joanmellen.net

LBJ had nothing to do with it. Soon after the assassination, they crossed the border into Mexico and/or Canada. They used the Texas police that were in the KKK, to send them info overseas; so as to find doubles, that looked almost exactly like the actual assassinations -- to divert the investigation, from the real killers.

Cardinal Spellman, Grand Protector of the Knights of Malta lobbied for the installation of a pro-American regime in Viet Nam.
After the French left Indochina, the majority Buddhist population began to take over the reins of government that had been primarily controlled by the minority Catholic, pro-French bureaucracy. The installation of the Diem regime and the invitation of American advisors to protect it was the beginning of the Vietnam conflict as we know it.

63. Read the Rolling Stones article
and got the following impressions from Hunt as he appeared to his kids and in interviews.

He didn't know and didn't want to know that much. that was his job and health insurance. I am MORE interested what he thought about the death of his wife(fellow agent?). He has more self-damning secrets than knowledge about the higher ups. He has written a lot of fiction to support himself. The assertions are speculative, so who is the best source? LBJ who wrote he was sure it was Castro as payback, Nixon who said he thought it was a cabal of Dems, Garrison in Mafia riddled NOLA who thought it was everyone except the mob?

It still remains the perfect spaghetti conspiracy. No effective investigation presuming ONE of the accused was a major ringleader could not take place without crawling with warrants into the dirty laundry of the entire national "establishment". Garrison just got inches inside. A few sparse new clues with new names. That's the best he could do on his deathbed at his children's urging after a lifetime of spookish silence. If he really knew a lot or would tell the Ultimate secret he would be dead. And his kids. That is the dark illogic of granting him full credence.

Edited on Sat Apr-07-07 08:35 AM by formercia
The half truth is that RFK was going after the 'Mob', also known as the Cosa Nostra, Our Cause. Many high-level members of the Mafia are also Knights of Malta. He knew that the KOM was behind the Killing and that's why they killed him.
Is it any wonder that J Edgar Hoover refused to even acknowledge the existence of the Mafia, being that he was a Knight of Malta, thus a member of, or at least well-connected to that very organization.
