Poll question: Is the whole "Palin-is-a-victim" charade orchestrated to take attention away from ...
... genuine misogyny?

Like the crap Sonia Sotomayor is going through right now? Or what Hillary Clinton had to put up with during the campaign?

Or what people in Alaska have to go through due to the misogynist policies of their current governor?

2. Other--Palin is using it to keep her mug in the spotlight.
She is headed for Laughingstockville, she's the only one who does not know this, though.

11. True, but Letterman's an ass and dug his own hole. I have no sympathy.

15. How did Letterman dig his own hole?
By telling jokes? Or by telling jokes about "she-who-must-never-be-discussed-in-anything-less-than-glowing-terms"?

Is the empress' team of propagandists upset that someone would comment on her wardrobe?

18. I think he's being needlessly mysogynist
It's irrelevant to me that it's Sarah Palin and/or her daughter; to me it's on the same level as people complaining about Michelle Obama's predeliction for sleeveless tops. I'm not a fan of Letterman's humor to begin with.

22. I don't agree that he's being misogynist at all.
To me it appears as though Palin can't stand to be out of the spotlight, but has no idea that being in the spotlight means that she can be criticized.

She believes she should be worshiped; everyone around her tells her so.

27. I really don't care what Palin thinks
I agree with you about her*, I'm just saying I have little or no sympathy for Letterman.

* Although I do think she has the right to dress however she wants, including glamorously if she feels like it. I'm not going to criticize her for wearing a skirt or boots or a particular style of shoe.

17. He apologized. And he did it in some detail. I find that people who
will not accept an apology, who are like a dog with a bone after said apology has been issued, who flog the topic repeatedly and fan the flames (still waving the daughter around, continuing to "make hay" and violating the child's privacy, while whining on and on about the violaton of her privacy) and who deliberately misconstrue what people are saying (the fourteen year old daughter as opposed to the "knocked up" older one bit--like people actually FOLLOW what Sarah Fucking Palin is up to on an hourly basis) are scary people.

They're the type of people who shoot up museums and commit mass murder. Their minds just don't work right.

David Letterman's use of a stupid and inappropriate joke, for which he apologized, pales in comparison to Palin's use of this incident for her own personal aggrandizement. If she really cared about her kid she'd accept the apology, go on his show, make him eat crow, and leave it at that. Game, set, match. Instead, she's flogging this horse until the flies have given up on it and the maggots have hatched. It's OVER, Sarah.

She wants to ride Dave to the White House. It's not gonna happen. This is not "The" issue that will galvanize America. All it does is make her look like an asshole who will continue to push her kid's name into the public eye for her own purposes, and her kid gets a humiliating footnote in the history books as a consequence.

19. Answer #2 does not negate Answer #1 - but the truth is there is far less
genuine misogyny directed at Palin than at Clinton or Sotomayor. Most of the barbs aimed at Palin are because she is a despicable person, not because she is a woman.

20. Yeah I agree, but ...
... because the GOP controls the media, only GOP opinions count.

And since the GOP-controlled media can only handle one story at a time, Palin's problems must take center stage and everyone else can wait their turn.
