Faith-based Organization? Line up for your OSHA Grant
OSHA Offers $6.9 in Grants for Worker Safety and Health Training

OSHA is now soliciting applications for nearly $7 million in Susan Harwood Training Grants available to nonprofit organizations, including labor unions and community-based and faith-based organizations that are not an agency of a State or local government.

So, if you're an electric utility lineworker falling from the top of a 150-foot transmission line tower, someone can make up a prayer for you to say on the way down.

1. I can see this
The Susan Harwood Training Grants are for things like setting up workplace safety programs. These could help...

* Angel Food Ministries set up an improved forklift safety program
* Habitat for Humanity improve its fall prevention training program
* a local church-based home repair organization fix its broken lockout/tagout regulation

There are faith-based industrial programs, and the workers there need to be safe too--because Jesus ain't gonna help save someone who falls off the roof because he doesn't know how to tie his harness to the safety line.
