1. Because Willow was the only daughter at the Yankee game with her.

7. And they took Dave literally instead of extrapolating he meant their 18 year old
whose chastity has come and gone.

18. Ditto
However, not knowing that, I assumed Letterman was talking about Bristol. It was still poor taste.

23. Seems pretty non-controversial
Someone jokes about your daughter at the game and you only have one daughter at the game.

Fair bet you assume they're talking about that daughter. Doesn't seem too hard to figure out.

32. But Brystol is the only daughter that got knocked up
The joke was about getting knocked up not about being at a baseball game. Why would anyone assume anything different?

2. None of the above
Probably because Willow was the daughter that was at the baseball game.

14. I think that would fall under vanity
I saw the segment and it never crossed my mind that the joke could be about Willow until the Palins released a statement. Yes, the jokes were off color, but it's pretty vain to think Letterman and most people watching pay close enough attention to her family's activities to know which daughter they took to the game. I didn't even know the Palins were even in New York until I saw that segment. It was a joke about a Palin daughter getting knocked up and most people would think Bristol because she was the previously pregnant daughter.

One could argue that using the Palins as the butt of so many jokes would lead them to believe everyone was obsessed with them. It's an explanation but not a justification. Just plain vanity.

6. They didn't assume anything. They just wanted to wring their hands in sanctimonious outrage.
Granted, it was Willow who went to the Yanks game with them, not Bristol. So ostensibly A-Rod would've been in proximity to her. But Todd and Sarah know better, they're just publicity and attention nymphos.

to her belief in "abstinence only" sex ed, Willow is now pregnant, and Sarah's a little touchy about it right now. She reacted before she realized that it wasn't public knowledge yet.

Because if they were 18 or older, it could have been described as consensual.

They are just tools anyway and fairly dumb tools at that. They acted on advice from rethuglican strategists who saw the opportunity to get good mileage and a lot of free press out of this, so that is why they did what they did. Failin has always used her kids as props and she always will.

24. Other--That's how THEIR SICK MINDS roll, see?
The obvious daughter--the one who "got up the pole"--was an obvious and plain choice for anyone who has followed both the Palin family Oops-But-We-Do-Like-Abstinence saga and the History of A-Rod and his propensity for screwing anything that moves.

Only people who are STUPID and LITERAL and PERVERTED would try to fit the little kid into the picture.

They also have no sense of humor. With Bristol, Queen of Abstinence Education, as a subject of the joke, it's funny. With the other kid, it's just not. Letterman may be crude, but he's funny.

Dave and or his staff screwed up. They mistook Willow for Bristol. Bristol IMHO is fair game.

34. Sarah Palin will use anyone (including her daughter)...
...as an excuse to get up on her soapbox and give some "I'm holier than thou, the rest of the
world is a bunch of amoral pigs" because that's what her base wants to hear.

She's not making the news anymore. She's slowly reverting to irrelevant, has-been status.

She was waiting on her toes, for an opportunity like this.

Everyone knows Dave was talking about Bristol. The other little girl hasn't even been mentioned in the news since
the presidential election, but Bristol and her mother had made sure that Bristol has been all over the news in the
past year.

The sick thing, is that Sarah Palin will rip anyone to shreds to further herself. She doesn't care about childhood
sexual abuse. Her state has the highest rate of childhood sexual abuse and alcoholism, and she doesn't do a damn
thing to decrease it. She also makes rape victims pay for their own rape kits.

She's a bully. Using the horrors of sexual abuse and pedophilia--against David Letterman---just so she can appeal
to her base and keep herself relevant. She actually said yesterday on GMA, that David Letterman shouldn't be around
14-year old girls.

She's a snake and a sociopath.

38. no pictures of Willow at the game
only pictures are of her in short shorts on the stage at the autism talk. willow is also 15, not 14. Chalk that up to another Palin lie.

Palin also lied about the Ziegler interview.

I wrote to ABC to ask why Matt didn't correct her re Obama's statement about family during the election. While typing, I realized the answer. She lies so much, no one can keep up. They have to pick and choose what they're going to correct.

They chose to pretend Lettermen meant Willow and to say she was 14 when she is 15. Odd. I don't get it.
