I despair of politicians in re health care reform.
Can we just cut them out of the negotiations? Can doctors and nurses and pharmacists and patients form some sort of coalition to SOLVE this problem?

Wages are garnished every day to cover health care costs already incurred. My niece died. She died of a combination of cancer and cancer therapies. She didn't live to see her 35th birthday. Her husband survives her. I am told that he will be garnished at in-excess of 50% of his wages for years to come. I fear he will lose him to the bottle.

If our elected representatives can't separate themselves from the INDUSTRY of MEDICINE enough to address the HEALTH of the PEOPLE, they need to butt out.

The interests of these two groups cannot be reconciled.

1. Doctors, nurses, pharmacists and patients are only a part of the big picture
I would suppose that somebody could set up some sort of independent insurance company, where doctors, nurses (less so, because they're usually employees) and pharmacists (at least the self-employed ones) would agree to take less of a payment, in exchange for less hassle in getting paid. I would also expect such an insurance contract to include the settlement of disputes by arbitration, rather than the expensive, time-consuming route of lawsuits.

I'd gladly sign up for something like that if it were available, and my employer could be persuaded to offer it.
