Gas station in Omaha, NE only plays Fox News on screens at pump...
Look at this adorable little gas station with their big garish flag...

Fantasy's West

I used to go to this place fairly often simply due to convenience. They are very overpriced (gas consistently a few cents more expensive than market, fountain drinks about $0.75-$1.00 more than market, everything else equally higher than market). The owners are what you might call Hannitized. They are complete free-market opportunist wingers!

Every pump has a color LCD display and whenever the pump is activated, while you stand there pumping gas the screen pumps you full of Fox. The inside of the store has two televisions, one at each end of the room, which blares Fox all day long. And it's loud. Outside and in!

Back in 2003 I went in and asked about it, and the kid behind the counter said "Yeah it sucks, this is all they allow us to play... it can only be Fox News or Husker games. That's what the owners want."

There are a few of these "Fantasy's" stations in Omaha, and I've been to about three of them. Always Fox News. Always.

Of course, Omaha is also privy to Terror Free Oil...

2. Running on empty
Some people see Fox News—I see a test pattern.

3. Wow. That actually makes Terrible Herbst stations (mostly Nevada) seem sane.
All they insist on playing over their TVs near the front counters is their own promo videos for their gas, convenience products and local casino operations. The most obnoxious thing about that endlessly looping garbage is the part where the singers all go (in what someone thought of as harmony):

TERR-i-BLE's, the BEST in TOW-ow-OWN! Oh, yeee-AAAHHH!

Sounds like it came straight out of a lost episode of South Park. :P

But thank the Gods, no Fuck Snooze.

4. Do these people not realize that they are brainwashing?
I wouldn't want all these establishments to keep their monitors tuned to CNN or MSNBC either. Why not a 24 hour weather channel or music channel?

5. Nothing like a little brainwashing while you pump the fuel
I sure wouldn't be shopping there anytime soon.

6. Went through a similar experience a few years ago;
stopped to fill up at a large local convenience store chain and they had a local radio station doing an on location broadcast from the parking lot pumping out right wing venom. I called the companies main office a told them that I was sure that they did not , as a company, want to make a political statement and if they did I would stop buying there and form a boycott. It worked. So get organized and and see which is more important to them, making money or forming political opinions.
