Approved Detroit Budget Means More Layoffs (315 + 10% wage cuts)
The Detroit City Council has approved an about $3.5 billion budget for the 2009-10 fiscal year that includes 315 layoffs.

The Detroit Free Press and The Detroit News report the budget for the year starting July 1 was approved Tuesday.

It also includes cutting salaries of city appointees and other nonunion workers by 10 percent.
