1. Say we're on the blue team.
Say we're life-long Democrats.

Say we plan to vote Democratic in the next election.

Say we plan to vote Democratic in the next elections as far as the eye can see.

Say we don't give a good goddam about where John Edwards lives.

Say we try harder to support Democrats on these boards.

10. Nice Right Wing talking point
However...you might do some research about some of the cases that Edwards has tried and won.
You might be surprised.
You might pay particular attention to a small boy that was injured by a hospital CORPORATION. That was one of his cases.
But...nice try.

4. I wish some people would be mad as hell about other issues other than where someone lives.
Edited on Sat Jan-27-07 02:34 PM by CarolinaPeridot
I have had 3 iPods , I shop at Wal-mart, I have the damn internet , CABLE for that matter, and cable tv. My closet is full of clothes - designer clothes that I get because of my job. I shop at Wal-mart which according to some people is EVIL and I work for my money so I should damn well be able to do what ever the hell I please with it. And so should Edwards.

And I think this subject should cease. I mean really bitching about where someone lives is not going to make them move. Obsess much ? Hell yes.

14. Why do you shop there, though?
Edited on Sat Jan-27-07 03:16 PM by Clark2008
Because, their products are so chinzy that I've found I have to replace them in a couple of months, which means I really don't save on anything.

Do you shop there because you have to - as in, there's nothing else around (which is a dilemma for some)? Or are you proud that you contribute to the minimalization of workers? Surely you can find inexpensive goods someplace where they don't treat their workers like chattle.

I was a single Mom for five years and didn't have two nickles to rub together sometimes and I found ways around shopping at Wally World.

I mean, yes, it is your money and you can spend it where ever you like, I just don't understand why you like it there. I don't get it.

18. Would you take candy from the mouths of babes if you felt like it?
I mean, I know it's not against the law to shop at Wally World, but why do you do it? Doesn't it bother you how their workers are treated?

I say this as the friend of a woman who is part of that class-action lawsuit in which women were not promoted to management. So I do have a caveat here and I welcome the discussion.

Do you think it saves you money?

As I said, I didn't find it saved me any. Their products were so awful, that I had to go and repurchase a few months later. Also, there are none near me, so, by the time I drove to one, I didn't save anything. I could coast down my road to Target or Big Lots and get something better made for the difference I would have used in gas to get over to Wally World.

Please enlighten me.

19. First of all I don't shop there 24-7 .
Edited on Sat Jan-27-07 04:34 PM by CarolinaPeridot
I feel like there is a handbook out there for what someone can and can't do these days on the DU. I bought medicine at Wal-mart last week when I got off from my 3rd shift job because it was the only store open so crucify me. I shop there and that's that. I do feel bad that they treat their worker's like crap but what job does'nt it.

And I take candy from anyone I feel like because I can.

...the two Americas; the one John Edwards lives in and the one the rest of 'US' live in.

7. THANK YOU VERY MUCH!
All this crap about his house being too damn big is bull shit.

I would like to think that some day I too can dream to have a big house and afford to furnish it and much more.

Becoming rich does not have to make use elitist and turn to the right. There are many rich liberals out there.

9. This is the third, fourth thread I've read on this and it begs the question...
Why is his house of such importance??? He didn't work for it, earn it??? Perhaps there is an investment (build it, sell it) situation going on that is NONE of our business. I wish people would get worked up over something important instead of this stupidity. I'm glad he has a nice big house, I'm glad for he and his family. Let it die....

Edited on Sat Jan-27-07 03:17 PM by Old and In the Way
I only hope he has gotten his car approved by the DU Automotive Review Board. I think we need a forum to discuss all of our candidates lifestyles, too. We need to know what is the maximum acceptable limits to be considered a Democrat in good standing on all aspects of our lives.

It sure would be easier if we all conformed to the same exact standard. Boring, but easier, comrade.

11. Unlike The Elitist Rich Edwards EARNED His
...he came up from nothing, his family were millworkers, he worked his way through. THEN instead of commanding a 6 figure salary for corporations, he worked against them and he chose a niche in his field that deserately needs assistance ~ defending injured workers, consumers and the like against big corporations ~ and won them for his clients. Yes he got to keep a proportion of what he won, but he also went out there and got it using his head and the legal system not from Mummy and Daddy's trust fund. Edwards is not like most rich Republican greedheads who feel entitled to sit on their asses by the pool collecting dividends that taking other people's money for themselves and not paying taxes when they already hjave more than their share of the world's resources.

Edwards EARNED his, he did not sit on his ass and and then blame the poor while watching his fellow starving Americans do all the work and give all the sacrifice, and then feel entitled to take away those American's hard earned money, like most Republicans elitist rich pigs do.

My 2 cents

21. At least it's on a hill,
so maybe the rising sea level won't inundate it.

I'd hate for State Farm to get in a pissing match about wind versus water damage with such a skilled attorney. It could have an adverse effect on the Dow.
