An open letter to Bill O'Reilly ...
Bill-o, it appears you've lost the hop on your fast ball. It took you FOUR YEARS to finally incite someone to murder Dr. George Tiller. No doubt, you will hold yourself blameless. After all, who could possibly construe words like "baby killer" and "Nazi" inflammatory? And clearly, rhetorical questions such as "When will the people of Kansas do something about this monster?" were merely expressions of your free speech. Of course, just between you and me, we both know that your protestations of innocence will be bullshit, but you need to get them out there. After all, you have already had to settle one big bucks lawsuit, and God knows, you don't need another one. (Shit, FoxNews might decide you're not worth the constant legal expenses.)
But even so, Bill-o, you clearly aren't as persuasive as you believe you are. Four years?

2. Many, many years ago... O'Reilly was...
a good interviewer who would allow his visitors to express their views and then debate them in a fair manner. I found the discussion entertaining and educational.

Once he got some ratings, wrote a couple books and gained some fame, he changed drastically and turned bombastic. Reason and common courtesy disappeared from his interviews. All too often, his program is totally about Bill O'Reilly and HIS opinion.

I occasionally will watch when he interviews someone truly influential as he tends to treat such people with respect and give up his bullying routine. Unfortunately, this is becoming more and more rare.

He has influence and he should be aware that that this influence may cause his regular viewers to act irresponsibly. But his ratings and his ego will probably cause him to lose his sense of responsibility.

Sad.
