Just how stupid is Tiller's murderer?
Edited on Sun May-31-09 03:39 PM by Neecy

The getaway car was registered to an address in Merriam, KS, which is a suburb of Kansas City (and, I might add, it's a pretty nice suburb. I half expected this guy to be from Shawnee, and my fellow Kansans know of what I speak).

So, the guy drives more than three hours to commit the crime, and then what does he do? He's not far from the Oklahoma border, so he could try to make a run for it there. He could try to switch cars, assuming the getaway car was stolen, although I'm guessing it wasn't.

OR he could take a series of rural highways in an effort to keep a low profile.

But what does he do? He drives the same car on I-35, a MAJOR INTERSTATE HIGHWAY, back to Johnson County where no doubt the cops were on high alert for him.

Typical right-wing freak - not a brain in his head. Stupid as shit.

3. Come on now
He/she (oh, I'm sure it's a he) most likely went to some fundamentalistwacko "Christian" school that denies evolution, denies global warming and thinks the Bible mandates racial segregation. Or maybe he was homeschooled by his nutjob parents. Then he probably went on to Bob Jones University before heading off to Liberty University. What would you expect?

6. At 4PM, CNN retorted that people from the scene at thr church recognized the killer
as one of the people who had previously picketed the church, also he threatened to shoot another church member who moved to stop his "getaway". I have little doubt he is a member of one of the "christian" groups who have become terrorists on Kansas over the last few years...

FWIW, they also stated the FBI was called in.

Hate crime do you think?

11. I have a friend in Merriam
It's in a really nice part of town.

Shawnee may have more money, but it's a hornet's nest of RW nutters.

19. Merriam also has really trashy areas
And have you been to downtown Merriam lately?

I do agree about the RW nuts in Shawnee though. Mary Pilcher Cook immediately comes to mind.

But in Johnson County, Olathe takes the prize for rw frootloops.

26. come to think of it....
I'm not sure I've ever been to downtown Merriam. It'll be interesting to see what his house looks like.

I've been on a lot of these rural Kansas highways lately, though. It's the only way to get somewhere. I've seen a Trooper exactly once and he was doing a driver's license check on the outskirts of town (apparently, driving w/o a license is common down here in Libertarian Land).

12. People like that don't try to get away. They did what they wahted to do,
realizing very well that they will most likely be caught, but theyu don"t care. They made the decision to kill someone who THEY THOUGHT was evil and they're satisfied with their accomplishment.

wants to be a martyr.

I was thinking Lenexa but Shawnee is a good bet too.

EDIT to add: Lenexa? I may have my L areas mixed up. I will edit again if I remember. Yikes!

EDIT #2 I was thinking of Olathe, sorry to those in Lenexa. Lance Kinzer territory.

14. you are so right
and thanks for the small laugh about Shawnee (I live in JoCo, about 5 minutes from Merriam, so I know of what you speak. If the house wasn't closed up with the AC on I could probably hear the news choppers). Actually, the first thought that popped into my head was if the perp might be the protester I see all the time on my way to work. I pass the Planned Parenthood building daily and there is one man that protests there quite frequently. The description so far doesn't sound quite like him but you never know. Next time I see him I don't know if I'll be able to hold my tongue.

Much less work to ambush someone in a church, and think about the real consequences later.

I seriously hope he had a flash of reality on his leisurely drive home.

He obviously didn't care that they caught him.

17. Well, he did shoot a man in a church, presumably in front of dozens of witnesses
This type doesn't care about getting away with the crime though. I'm sure he's fully expecting to be tried, convicted, and executed (if Kansas has the death penalty?) so he can be a "martyr" for the sickening cause.

O'Reilly, Hannity, Savage, Limbaugh, Beck ect....
egging him on.
It's a guy in his 50's.
Sound a lot like the Knoxville shooter almost a year ago,
doesn't it?
From the sounds of it, O'Reilly should (almost) be an accessory to
murder- straight up!!!
