. . .for a date with is wife on a Saturday night? This motherfuckers have no shame. By flying a damned Gulf Stream, when he had every right to take the damned 747, the president is trying to be low key (as low key as you can be as POTUS) and not being wasteful. He is allowed to take his wife out on a Saturday night. . .its not like he is spending a month in Crawford, Texas or anything.

They are complaining that he is jetting off at taxpayer expense. Hell when he takes it shit its at taxpayer expense.

Obama keeps Broadway pledge

President Barack Obama and Michelle Obama landed in New York City late Saturday afternoon for a Manhattan date night that was to include a Broadway show.

A spokesman read a statement from Obama: "I am taking my wife to New York City because I promised her during the campaign that I would take her to a Broadway show after it was all finished.

The president traveled in a smaller, Gulfstream-type plane rather than the larger planes typically used as Air Force One.

The Republican National Committee slammed the outing in an "RNC Research Piece": "As President Obama prepares to wing into Manhattan’s theater district on Air Force One to take in a Broadway show, GM is preparing to file bankruptcy and families across America continue to struggle to pay their bills. ... Have a great Saturday evening – even if you’re not jetting off somewhere at taxpayer expense. ... PUTTING ON A SHOW: Obamas Wing Into The City For An Evening Out While Another Iconic American Company Prepares For Bankruptcy."

2. It's a kick to see these two now-famous people behaving like a vibrant
couple on the world stage. There's no harm in such elegant romance.

The First Lady and the President heading up to the Big Apple for dinner and a play?

Yur durn tootin'. More power to 'em.

goprigs complaining that Obama took his wife to see a show and, incidently, stimulating their economy.

Jackeens had a few suggestions on how the Obamas could travel in the future to placate the gop(yeah right).

I love this picture.

10. No upside there. Manhattan is going to go for the GOP when Reagan re-animates and
slithers out of his grave...

Giving Broadway a boost will probably help the industry...

8. Anyone with any intelligence at all can see that the RNC is full of shit...
And are fanatics for attacking Obama on such a petty issue. If anything, their attacks are actually showing the country that he does the RIGHT thing, by passing on the 747 and taking a much smaller airplane.

I'm glad to see our New President "Outside the Bubble" trying to keep NORMAL. GOOD ON THEM!

Bush II was reading "Pet Goat" while Cheney was in Charge...and so it's not the First Time Presidents have tried to get away. Of course..in the case of "9/11" Bush takes the blame while Cheney was in Bunker presiding over that HORROR! But, that's what a VEEP is for...isn't it.

Anyway...Obama knows he's covered. Let him take his wife out to a Broadway show and dinner. Why not!

More telling about the "journalists" "reporting" the "story" in the "news".

22. Anytime the President steps on board a U.S. military aircraft....
...it is immediately designated as AF-1. In this case the Gulfstream in question was probably a USAF C-21, which is used for executive travel.

The fuckers on the right still think people are listening to their poutrage.

19. I think the GOP are on to something...
I mean, if Obama keeps doing stuff like this, next thing you know, he'll be reading a kid's book like The Pet Goat during a terror attack or attending a birthday party and strumming a guitar while an American city drowns.
Er... Never mind.

I could have done without the association of groping and Bush, though. :puke:
