Lucky Ducky and the brand-new stadium - Tom The Dancing Bug
Particularly relevant to those of us in central Indiana:

Our infrastructure is crumbling, crime is up, schools are failing and the bubbas at the statehouse are about to raise taxes AGAIN to support our latest monument to corporate welfare:

1. This cartoon is VERY appropos
to the plight of the Oilcan. But hey, who needs infrastructure or education...that's so 1950s!!

Cities are being held hostage by sports. And it is sickening.

6. Oh, we're talking about Lucas Oil in Indy
But yeah, my hometown Phils and Eagles have veritable money pits, not to mention the place the Sixers and Flyers play (that I can never remember the name of, is it still the Wachovia Center?? I must get back there more often). The Philadelpha School District, as per usual, doesn't have a pot to piss in.

2. Yew betcha. Most of the usa would rather sit and guzzle cheap
booze, in front of the boob tube, baseball, football, something very simplistic, hooting woof woof woof, rather than read a book.
It's call anti-intellectualism in american life.

4. This could be a parable for the new yankee stadium.
I'm a yankee fan (it's getting more and more difficult these days to justify my allegiance to the team) and I hate the new stadium for a variety of reasons but mostly for the totally outrageously priced seats.
george and go shove it.
