SOTOMAYOR v SESSIONS: Obama Supreme Court nomination sets up battle over voting rights
As the media pours over the life of Judge Sonia Sotomayor -- Obama's pick for the Supreme Court -- one thing is clear: She is a staunch defender of voting rights.

How will that sit with the ranking Republican on the Senate Judiciary Committee, Sen. Jefferson Sessions of Alabama -- who prosecuted civil rights workers in the 1980s for "voter fraud" and called the Voting Rights Act "an intrusive piece of legislation?"
