PREDICTION: The Homophobic Radical Right Will Make New Proposition
I'll bet anything these sneaky assed evil fuckers will now support an initiative requiring a supermajority of the electorate to amend the California constitution because it would take just as simple a majority vote to over turn proposition H8.

Watch for it.

And I bet some on the left will fall for it, too.

2. First off, though, they will seek to annul all existing homo-marriages
I think that's as safe a bet as there is out there.

3. Only through the courts
They won't do that via ballot initiative. That would be overreaching and they know it.

4. They know it, but they'll try anyway
They can't allow such an "abomination" to stand, and you know it.

Yep, that's what's so maddening. There will be people on DU here defending the idea.

8. I'm from NY, but it does seem like a good idea to me...

I'm gay, too... However, it doesn't seem right to allow the majority to vote on the rights of a minority... and it seems like CA can now take away any rights by a simple majority vote on a proposition to amend the constitution.

As a process that's broken.

Of course, I would be very sad if putting a supermajority process in place delayed obtaining equal marriage rights in California... but the system seems broken as is.

Why is it maddening that I think this way?
