Absurd -- Gitmo
It is absurd that Obama has this Gitmo problem. Years ago the Supreme court told Bush he had to fix it. But he and Cheney let it go on and on. Any responsible government would have fixed the problem before now and then it wouldn't be a problem today.

So, if you are so inclined to point fingers at someone for this problem, point them back to Cheney and Bush.

1. Sorry
Sorry but if bush could have fixed it but didn't, and Obama
wants to, then why doesn't he just do it? He said he would and
I for one intend to hold him to it if he wants my vote in 12.

2. You need to talk to Congressional and Senate Dems.
They need to fund it first and instead, they're all in CYA mode.

4. Welcome to DU Texas Lurker
Why doesn't Obama just fix it? Well, he is trying. My point of course is that this situation is not something Obama was responsible for. Just like it's not your fault you only have 10 fingers.

But I am with you, we need to hold him to fixing this and doing so in a way that leaves us all feeling more secure. Secure in the sense that the government no longer feels it has the power to override various laws and put people in jail just because the president says to.

If Obama can't do that, then votes for him will be questionable, indeed.
