It really does. I wish other commentators would be as thorough. Keith's emotion sometimes dilutes the power of his message, but others could learn from his detailing of the fabrications within the speech. This should be required viewing for any Dem talking head that is going to go against the torture apologists.

1. Still preaching to the choir, though

As well-crafted as his comments are, his delivery sets him up for parody, and he isn't going to change any minds. Sad but true, because he is so sharp and his research and fact-checking are always sound.

There is this leaden weight in my belly that tells me that Cheney will indeed get away with everything. As cynical as it sounds, the people in a position to make the SOB answer for his crimes won't do it unless it's politically expedient for them.

2. I know he preaches to the choir

which is why I suggested that his well-researched and sourced refutation should be a briefing for OTHER Dem talking heads to desseminate in the wider MSM world.

I love KO, but as a career move I would advise him to tone down the righteous outrage to a calmer, more deliberative manner because we need more people to see him. His outraged worked during the Bush years as almost cathartic therapy for a lot of us, but now I need him to have abroader appeal.

That's why it's completely ineffectual now. Each side watches their favorite pundits and just assumes out of hand the other is lying. There is no longer middle ground to meet in IMO.
