D.U. Confession Thread, and How Much I Care about This Place.

Over the years I have made my fair share of blunders, but the worst ones were (2 instances of) blowing up at moderators for totally stupid reasons because I mis-interpreted what they were saying.

Dumb, dumb, dumb.

As someone who was once a moderator on another site (a chat site for people suffering from mental illness) I know it is extraordinarily difficult to moderate lively discussion groups and chat rooms.

I also begged to be tombstoned once, not for anything I had done but rather because I was afraid I was addicted (which I probably am), and they refused to. That pissed me off. But I'm glad they didn't.

I love this place, and I always feel terrible when I hurt someone's feelings here or ignorantly do something hurtful.

1. You get a pass from me. This place inspires passion, both good, and bad.

No worries here. I'm in the same boat sometimes. I wake up in the morning and hesitate to log in, worrying about how much of an idiot I've made of myself. Trust me, I've made some idiotic statements in the heat of the moment. I'd venture a guess that more regular posters have me on ignore than not.

I can't explain why this place means so much to me, but it does.

The people here are so remarkable and inspiring to me, and the entire purpose of this website, and the people it generally attracts (myself excepted) are remarkable.
