$2.23 A Gallon in Southaven MS.....
Edited on Tue May-19-09 01:55 PM by rsmith6621

I predict it will be $2.49 next Monday and $3.25 by July 4th....... If it goes any higher than that the economy will suffer further damage then it did last summer when it hit $5.00 plus a gal.......AGREED.

What is it in your neighborhood.

1. $2.49 already here in the DC area, and climbing rapidly. Here we go again.
Absolutely ZERO reason for this, except greed.

We will get close to four bucks a gallon again, unless Barack stops them.

I think he will. This is ridiculous.

We are up to $2.69, of course that was yesterday and I haven't been to town today, the price may have gone up again.

It's all about the "greed" of the oil companies, and the memorial day holiday coming up. They do his every year, jack the price up so they can make a killing on the first summer holiday. There really is no reason for this with oil prices below $60 a barrel!

4. Obama and Congress need to threaten an investigation.
That usually results in gas prices falling quickly.

with the Energy Information Administration

Not much reason for them to take a PR approach.

They also provide details considered in their analysis. Their findings seem pretty reasonable. This is certainly not a repeat of last year thus far.

15. I had read gas will peak at $2.40 this summer. Well it's that now.
I'm gonna say it'll be $3 by mid June, and a hurricane will push it to $4. Yep here we go again. Let's just KILL the economy why don't we?

17. It's the memorial day holiday!
They do this every year and they get away with it. I plan on saying home and not buying any gas this weekend. Have plans for a BBQ with the family, and planting the rest of my vegetable garden!
