Some freeper goodness on reviving the GOP:
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2253389/posts

I envy the Left in one regard... they demand purity from their representatives and they're getting it.

And - surprise - they don't have ankle-biting "moderates" weighing them down like proverbial boat anchors.

----------------

I guess if you go to the lefty blogs there is a fair amount of complaining about Dear Leader fighting the release of the photos and other complaints about lefties not being "progressive" enough.

But I agree, since the media and the popular culture seem to lean left...it's easy to be a lefty.

----------------

I once knew some people who stated, “Look, you can’t have everything you want. You need to go with the guy who will get you 80% of what you want.” And I said NO!

Here is why. It would only take ten election cycles to destroy close to 90% of what we believe in.

The reason is, if you only defend 80% of your beliefs each election cycle, then you lose 20% of your beliefs each election cycle and defend only what is left.

At 80% support for your beliefs, you lose just shy of 70% of your core beliefs, in just five election cycles.

Does that sound like a winning strategy.

We must stop giving even one inch to the left.

1 100.00 80% 80.00
2 80.00 80% 64.00
3 64.00 80% 51.20
4 51.20 80% 40.96
5 40.96 80% 32.77
6 32.77 80% 26.21
7 26.21 80% 20.97
8 20.97 80% 16.78
9 16.78 80% 13.42
10 13.42 80% 10.74

------------

And my personal favorite:

Let’s get one thing straight: The survival of the Republican party is not at all what matters. What IS important is the survival of our ideals - individual freedom, right to life, limited Federal government intrusions into our lives, low taxes, less regulation, protecting States’ rights, respect for the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 10th amedments to the Constitution, limited Federal spending, and no lousy government-run schools or health care programs. This are some of the reasons hundreds of thousands of us supported those Tea Parties. To hell with moderates.

Yes, because not having to house British soldiers is one of the key values our nation was founded on, and one that's constantly under assault.

And these people claim they love the constitution.

8. Yes. Don't worry about those.
And also the ones that come after the 10th, especially the 13th (slavery abolished) and 19th (women's suffrage).

this is where the dripping sarcasm image goes
