draft speeches, talking points, floor statements, press releases, and
other written materials. Candidate should have significant
speechwriting experience and an ability to write creatively,
prolifically, and quickly, as well as a capacity to engage in
substantive research and understand the policy and legislative issues
before the Congress. Hill experience is preferred but not required.
Candidates should submit a cover letter, resume, and a short writing

I think it might have something to do with the CIA firestorm. Pelosi's office might have decided that they needed more staff for counter-offensives, etc. If so, they would be correct.
