But it was a beauty of a take down of Hasselbeck.

There are areas where I DO agree with Ventura. I appreciate that he's a practical person.

42. He's particularly brutal in his comments against Coleman-
(who was the repub candidate against him in the '98 governor's race), calling him a hypocritical liar, among the more polite comments. I certainly don't always agree with him either, but he does have a very refreshing tendency to not be afraid to speak his mind.

21. They're locking off the elevators at Fox right now
And then Sean can safely smirk at the camera and say that Ventura was detained or delayed or declined to appear, and then Sean will do what he does best: Argue with inanimate objects and strut away preening.

14. WOW...You never know where the the voice of justice and
righteousness will come. Ventura was a lousy governor and probably still goofy on lots of issues....But he has the machismo viewpoint that shines light on how hollow and cowardly torture is. He puts it into terms that the less educated or people who do not closely follow the news will understand. who would have thought that an ex-professional wrestler may be able to recapture the soul of our nation? (Not me)

19. In all fairness he's more than an ex-wrestler
He was in the Special Forces (A Navy Seal I believe) and he's been an actor in movies. There's much more to him than just mindless brawn. I have always respected him just because he's honest about his policies. Politics didn't corrupt him at all. He is what he says he is.

Sorry, I might be overly sensitive. I'm just used to the assumption that all of us who wrestled were morons. Jesse has the gift of both honesty and not caring who he offends.

Why'd you have to have such kooky personal views and libertarian leanings? It's so incredibly rare to see a politician (and I believe Jesse was exactly the same in office) tell you what he thinks straight up.

26. I loved, loved, Jesse's comments on this. Way to go, Jesse!
I live in MN, and remember when he was governor. He could speak very passionately on any given issue, much like he was doing on The View. He was often wrong, which sometimes made him look like an idiot, but when he was right (like he is today), he was untouchable.

I didn't vote for him (he was third party; I voted for the Dem), but I would have if he had run for a second term. He sure would have been better than Timmy "The Right Wing Tool" Pawlenty.

38. He was actually pretty conservative, but had a lot of priorities in the right place.
He was all about fiscal conservatism (tax cuts and all that), but things that were good investments into the future, even investments with unquantifiable returns like good education, or the Twin Cities area's first light rail line, were largely green-lighted.

He was also a social libertarian, so Minnesotans with our live-and-let-live culture liked that.

The things that people most liked about him was that he didn't let politics get in the way of common sense, he'd call BS when he heard it, and he never minced words.

39. That is the feel I got from him re common sense
His arguments seem to be of a common sense point-of-view. As of late he has made one of the best arguments regarding torture and the drug war and the way he phased his arguments were of course common sense. I'm willing to bet he was a better governor then Pawlenty but probaly not better then the liberal politicians in MN.

If Rape was reworded to "non compliant sexual gratification" would it be legal? "
