Will the assault on Nancy Pelosi kill Democratic attempts to establish a Truth Commission?

...... and as flawed as the Truth Commission concept is, it's at least something. Seems like all of this ginned-up Pelosi controversy is just another Repug attempt to deflect and obfuscate.

1. One can only hope.
The US is not some emerging democracy that needs to reconcile two or more warring factions. We already have established procedures for dealing with this kind of criminality.

There is no statute of limitations on war crimes. If the current crop of Dems are too spineless to uphold the Constitution, let's wait until we can elect some better ones.

4. I SOOOOOOOOOOO Wish It Was Easier To Elect New Ones... Just
doesn't seem to happen very much. Most of the NEW Dems (blue dogs) are so "light" that Dems are STILL spineless!

I HAVE NO ANSWERS!!!

6. It's time for the Progressive Caucus to start flexing its muscle
This is the biggest caucus in Congress. Perhaps it's time for Barbara Lee or Lynn Woolsey to run for Speaker.

2. Quite the opposite I suspect - and that's a dam shame. Such a commission will pollute evidence
and be the ultimate reason no prosecutions ever take place at any high level.

5. My guess is yes, that's the goal.

They want the torture issue taken off the table period, just like impeachment, and they figure they can scare Pelosi into declaring it a dead letter just like she did with impeachment.

I hope they don't succeed, and they might not. I'd be happy to see a truth commission as long as it didn't have the power to grant amnesty from prosecution.

7. Unfortunately There's Truth AND Fuzzy Truth!! I Would Be Willing To
get back to work to elect new people, but where I live... it's been a "one horse pony" for DECADES!!

As each day goes by, I turn on my TV for news and come away disappointed, then turn to programs I've never watched in the past! I have a DISH and just found the program NCIS (funny, it's government) and I suppose I'm watching re-runs, so my friends tell me!

I DO still watch C-Span AND Bob Graham will be on shortly at 9:30 AM... I SURE MISS HIM!!!
