Did you HEAR the Rose Garden threat??
Edited on Tue Apr-03-07 11:27 AM by annabanana
The sheer UNMITIGATED GALL of this man astounds me!! He is now officially holding the servicemen and women hostage to his mad plans to continue this obscene occupation.

Listen to him say that if he doesn't get the blank check to continue that they "will stay longer" and will "have to go back more often".

I have been mad at him for years, but I have never, never felt this kind of fury. HOW DARE HE HOLD THEM HOSTAGE TO HIS INSANITY?!?!

Watch the video "Challenging Congress":

3. Yes, I heard how concerned he was about the troops who might have
to stay longer, or go to Iraq back sooner.

Of course, what I didn't hear was the fact that he didn't say ANYTHING about the ones who have been killed, and WON'T BE COMING BACK HOME, EVER.

Unless you include arriving in a flag-draped casket as "coming home."

The man needs to be removed from office IMMEDIATELY. He has lost his mind.

23. I don't know what it's going to take, but I have to believe that with each
hypocrisy, with each new revelation of wrongdoing, with each new idiotic speech, Bush is one step closer to being removed from his office.

As Americans, we cannot afford to simply stand by and let a delusional President, who has lied to us, outed a COVERT CIA AGENT during a time of war, appointed cronies who were not qualified for their positions, wasted billions of tax dollars, and spied on us illegally to remain in office.

And Congress is going to have to live up to their responsibility to deal with it, like it or not.

The Constitution does not advise to do what is politically expedient, it demands that the various branches protect the Constitution. We need some of that protecting RIGHT NOW!!

52. Bush only wishes he were Anthony
Remember, Anthony had unlimited, god-like power. Bush is a small, frightened, petulant moron who gets whatever power he has solely from all the suck-ups that surround him and that cover for his continual, daily screw-ups.

I'm sure Bush watched that episode and LUSTED for the power that Anthony had. It's probably his favorite Twilight Zone episode. But the only attribute of Anthony's that Bush emulates is his brattiness. In everything else, he is a miserable failure.

That is brilliant! The comparison of Junior to Anthony is spot on.

Wow. I'm stunned, because that is so accurate and it is so FRIGHTENING--because it is so accurate!!!

Just like Anthony--Bush wants everyone else to fall in line and do it HIS WAY---even if his way
is completely insane and a page out of bizarro-land. Anthony wanted everyone to watch cartoons
all day and eat cereal for dinner--and Junior wanted to start a war based on lies, torture people and illegally
wiretap Americans. Ack!

...and can you imagine the White House staff...running around, trying to please George-Anthony with manic
smiles and endless words of praise for the most ludicrous of ideas?

"Why YES, George-Anthony! Your failed war cost Republicans the 06 elections, but we think it's SUPER FANTASTIC
that you want to expand this GLORIOUS, BRILLIANT, fun-in-the-sun Iraq war. Applause! Applause! You brilliant
buffet of creativitiy and intelligence!"

OH my stars. Disturbingly accurate.

Me want my blankey.

I mean, why is no one commenting on the blazing, idiotic illogic of the comment?

They ARE staying longer. They ARE going back more often. That's the STATUS QUO. If we cut off his money, he CAN'T send them back. He can't keep them there. He'll have no way to do it.

It's the dumbest, emptiest threat I've ever heard. If we GIVE him the money, he'll send them back more often and for longer periods because no amount of money will create a soldier who doesn't exist and we do not have a functioning military anymore.

9. Chaos in Iraq is unavoidable. It was absolutely guaranteed in March 2003.
The continued military occupation of Iraq does NOT avoid chaos, death, and destruction - it merely prolongs it and postpones a steadily increasing payment to the piper. How much money are we willing to pay the people holding the tiger by the tail? How long can that tiger be held? How many more people will we need holding that tail as the tiger gets angrier and angrier?

The criminal invasion of Iraq in March 2003 absolutely guaranteed the conditions we're seeing - conditions foreseen by those who PROFIT from this chaos. Far from being something "nobody could have foreseen" it's something foreseen by two groups: (1) those who argued against and protested the illegal invasion and occupation and (2) those who knew that they would profit from the illegal invasion and occupation and propelled this administration's predations.

The only reason Smirk, Sneer, and their 'base' are re-marketing the same old lies they've been peddling for four years is because they're profiting ... and the people of Iraq and the people of the US are paying and dying. It's an enterprise - one with externalized costs. It's the wet dream of those for whom profit and wealth are the only measure of 'right'.

He needs to be impeached NOW. The republicans in congress need to be TARGETED with this sound bite, and should be made to eat the sins of this administration that they have enabled from the beginning. It is imperative that Dems saddle the REPUBLICANS with this kind of economic blackmail, of using our exhausted troops' rotating deployments as negotiating fodder.

Bush just made a sound-bite that will be heard all across America and the world. There is no adult in this whole world that won't see that threat for the pissy, cruel, damning immaturity that it is.

Nothing as usual?

Congress has a job to do here not in the Middle East, Iraq, or Israel. All of these junkets should be halted and all members of Congress should be called home to take care of America.

Impeachment must begin immediately. The troops must be brought home now - alive. All airlines should be called upon to fly them home. At the same time we should beg all nations to take on a limited peace mission to stabilize the mess * created by his insane and terroristic invasion of Iraq.

If we hope to save America we cannot risk a greater war with Iran provoked by this sinister impostor who is insane.

22. The man is simply EVIL
Once we recognize that, then nothing he does will seem surprising, because everything he has done since he was selected for his current job is consistent with that one basic fact.

There is only one solution for a nation that has such a man in a position of as much power as he has. Fortunately, our Founding Fathers provided us with an excellent solution to that problem, and it's written right into our Constitution.

Unfortunately, it appears (to me) that our Congress is not eager to utilize that solution. If they could share our outrage over his numerous evil actions, maybe they would be more eager to do so. But it is considered politically incorrect in this country to say that our leaders have bad intentions. We can say that they're wrong, we can say that they're stubborn, etc. etc. But we can't even imply that they're ill intentioned. And heaven forbid that we call them evil!!!

and if he does it before he gets the money, he KNOWS that Congress isn't going to give him a cent.

It hit me when I was watching this morning's tantrum:

He will be sure to keep the troops there and also insure that they don't have enough supplies
just so he can get is way.

His precious pride is more important than any military man's life.

*ites are thinking that the Congress will blink first and cave in.

They need to stand up to him and his thug cronies. It's the ONLY way to deal with bullies.

63. Vacation
Crawford-Bound Bush Slams Congressional Vacation

-snip-

President Bush plans to spend Thursday through Sunday at his ranch for an extended Easter weekend.

This will be Bush's 63rd trip to his ranch since taking office. He has spent 405 days, either entirely or partially, at his ranch in Crawford, according to Mark Knoller, a CBS Radio White House correspondent known for keeping meticulous records of the president's vacation days.

In 2005, Bush was roundly criticized for taking a lengthy vacation of nearly five weeks away from the White House -- one of the longest presidential retreats in at least 36 years -- when Hurricane Katrina hit the Gulf Coast and left New Orleans engulfed in floodwater.

-snip-

President Bush has also been criticized for not being attentive when he was on vacation at his ranch shortly before the 9/11 attacks.

On August 6, 2001, Bush was vacationing at his ranch when he was given the "president's daily brief" containing a two-page section entitled "Bin Laden Determined to Strike in US."

ABC: http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalradar/2007/04/crawfordbound_b.html

To be fair, Bush flew home to sign the bill that the pandering GOP congress flew back from vacation to pass, a bill that affected a single family.

All to please the fundies.

and connections?
Exactly what he really is...a complete, utter, moronic, total, gutless, heartless, dickless, brainless, soulless, clueless, nobody. He'd be NOBODY without the family ties.
His legacy will be solid shit. He's never accomplished anything positive in his life. Everything he's ever gotten he's either stolen or had handed to him.

Time to hand him his ass, his head, his job, and his legacy on a nice silver platter.

66. Exact quote from the SOB here:
In a time of war, it's irresponsible for the Democrat leadership -- Democratic leadership in Congress to delay for months on end while our troops in combat are waiting for the funds. The bottom line is this: Congress's failure to fund our troops on the front lines will mean that some of our military families could wait longer for their loved ones to return from the front lines. And others could see their loved ones headed back to the war sooner than they need to. That is unacceptable to me, and I believe it is unacceptable to the American people.

71. Furious?
Sometimes, it's just hard to know what to get furious about anymore.

I watched the newscasters broadcasting those lines from Bush and I wondered, is anybody going to even bring up the question of whether there is anything remotely like logic to that?

Nope. I guess no one expects logic from the US Prex and that's the new normal, has been for years.

and other hired mercs that much more - they'll do anything they're told, without even a token glance at the laws or a thought of reporting or oversight. There are tens of thousands of them already, hired thugs who recognize no law. And they're active in this country too - remember them swaggering around with their guns in the Katrina aftermath?

No, I'm not kidding. Read about it - here's a review of a new book on what Blackwater is all about:
http://www.yuricareport.com/Corporations/BlackwaterWorldsMostPowerfulArmy.html

The Bushies need the Air Force for bombing, but they already rely very heavily on hired mercenaries on the ground.

But I do have to say. Just when I thought NBC was doing the right thing,

They pointed out that Republicans visited Syria as well as Pelosi. Actually something substantive. But then they just jumped back on horse-race reporting. Congress versus the President jockeying for position.
