I have a confession.
I actually have a bush voodoo doll, bristling with pins. My neighbor and good friend, who's an amazing artist and seamstress, made it for me for Christmas.

Childish? Yeah. Bad karma? Tough.

Satisfying to mistreat it? Absolutely.

9. Through
the place where his head's supposed to be. We actually had a little ceremony, and although we were trying to be semi-serious about it, we ended up in absolute hysterics. I keep it on top of my monitor.

Edited on Tue Apr-03-07 10:30 AM by snappyturtle
would be "wonderful"! Can't you just see it: bushvoodoo dolls in briefcases, desk drawers, glove compartments, and under pillows (for those bad dream nights)! It's so funny this has come up now because last Saturday I purchased fabric to make some chicken pincushions for my sewing and non-sewing friends..... Now if these dolls had a little emery attached they would be perfect!

Edit: emery is metal grit encased in fabric (usually a strawberry shape) to keep needles and pins SHARP!

I find this new information, um, not that hard to believe. ;)

As much as I despise Dimson and his idiot crone, I DO draw the line at Voodoo. :eyes:

But to each his/her own. Enjoy! :hi:

23. Practitioners of Voodoo would tell you that in order for it to work, one
must have areas of conjunction, for example, a strand of hair, a piece of fabric that had the sweat of the intended recipient, a piece of jewelry that had been worn by the recipient over a long period of time, a cigarette butt with the saliva of the recipient, etc.

A Voodoo doll without any of that is just a doll.

Oh, and it helps a lot if the recipient actually believes in the power of Voodoo and also believes that someone is practicing Voodo on him. If he/she doesn't believe, it won't have any effect.

ask our dogs to go get "the bad man" and they fetch bu$h. On a scarier note, our large dogs are 4 & 5 yo and have never had a chew toy last more than a few hours. My husband purchased it in SF and paid $16 for it in 2004. I was a little pissed as I figured it would last a short perios of time. To my dismay the damn thing looks good as new.
