Mickum, a pro-bono attorney for Gitmo detainees was on. He spoke about the 800+ human
beings who are being held there. He said that many who are in isolation, are kept in
24 hour light and that they are slowly going crazy. He said that even some Blackwater contractors
assigned to interrogate have come to him in private - questioning the torture methods.

Mickum said that he suspects the government has only about 16 court cases - and those are not even that strong. He said that many he has talked to, told the others when captured, "Don't worry, the US will treat us well, and their justice system is fair and just." They no longer believe this.

I hope that every single vacationing congressperson was watching and that they will stop this immorality. The British detainees in Iran have probably got it 10 million times better than the people we are torturing and confining !!

4. Watching this, made me stop and think, Why? I thought that any

10. Another thing Mickum talked about was that the only evidence

our govt has on some of them is that they are accused of be affiliated or knowing a member of Al-Qaeda. But, when the detainee asks, "Who?" - they do not have the name of the Al-Qaeda person. Mickum says that this is crazy - how can a person defend themselves against these vague charges. They say, no, I don't know any Al-Qaeda people. It's like proving a negative.

fair treatment - though that could be the results of the treatment and brainwashing.

I kept trying to get in. All I wanted to say was this country has become Germany in the 30s or the USSR during the Cold War. Shipping people off to death camps or Siberia, hiding and torturing prisoners, forcing confessions, and secret trials are the methods of Nazis and the KGB, not the USA.

If our actions can not handle the light of day then we are doing wrong. And anyone supporting this behavior is un-American.
