"So be it"
Edited on Tue Apr-03-07 07:23 AM by proud2Blib
This is a comment about global warming an uniformed fool just posted to me on a local discussion board.

There are all kinds of theories about Global Warming. The one that makes sense to me is the one that the sun (with a little help from man) has warmed the earth. Either way, in order to cool the earth we need live like we were 150 years ago. Sorry, I don't want to. If that means it will warm the earth another half a degree so be it.

Also, 30 years ago the prevalent theory was that we had Global Cooling. If 95% of the scientists said that in order to warm the earth we must all drive SUVs, tell the factories to run constantly and no one can turn off their lights would you have agreed?

Well, that's me now on the flip side. Using the theories around and my comments sense, I'm saying no. I'm am listening to new data but with a skeptical ear. Right now, I think that the current fear mongering is so loud that all I hear is hysteria.

"So be it" if the earth warms up? Good grief. The ignorance is not only astounding, but downright dangerous!!

1. Well what's more troubling perhaps is that he feels that
to fight global warming we need to go back to living as we did in the 1860s. Presumably without the civil war.

8. The environmental movement has a lot of branches
I'm sure if Rush said it he was quoting someone; that's a favorite trick of his. Take some extremist and pretend he or she is representative of the movement as a whole.

That's how the embodiment of our movement is Ward Churchill in the minds of his followers.

5. "30 years ago the prevalent theory was that we had Global Cooling"
Obviously doesn't understand the process of scientific investigation. When lakes the size of Superior form on the Greenland ice sheet, global cooling isn't the problem.

6. One of the right wing nuts I know says that if global warming
is not caused by man, then it is God's will!

They always argue it is not caused by man, so if you say, well, who cares who caused it, what do we do about it, you get this kind of response!
