regarding Health care, can someone explain something to me??

How is it that all these Private Health insurance companies make all these outrageous profits, afford million dollar CEOs, and just wallow in the cash, yet we are told constantly that if the Govt does healthcare, we cant afford it, we will go broke etc.

What am I missing here -

Inefficient private insurance = huge profits

Efficient govt insurance = going broke

2. Here it is: these companies make much money & use some of it to lobby Congress.

That is, to "legally" bribe Congresspeople into voting as they wish.

Then they use some more of it to influence the media, including paying talking heads to lie about government involvement in health coverage in other countries, and in the U.S, (as with Medicare).

In other words: Efficient govt insurance = Inefficient private insurance going broke

3. The health care system in this country

is corrupt.

We ended up here because medicine, which was once a healing art, became a for profit business. It is no longer about healing the sick. And this corruption has infected every aspect of health care, including doctors and hospitals. It goes beyond the insurance companies.
