How differently would the Swine Flu crisis be handled in the Bush White House?
Edited on Thu May-07-09 06:32 PM by PinkTiger
I was thinking today that it would have raised the threat level, and we would all be terrified.

3. They would have shipped the sick people to northern states
....let the virus spread until just before elections, then declare a national emergency, quarantine all voters to their homes until the vaccine was ready, which would of course be just after the elections. Is there any doubt? They politicized everything else, why not this? Rove would have seen it as an opportunity, being the sick fuck that he is.

7. I agree
Terra! Terra! Terra! "They" are attacking us with germ warfare! Go out and buy more duct tape and plastic sheeting! Terra Alert!

I think the media has way over-hyped this situation as it is, but if the junta had still been in DC I'd bet my last nickel that we'd be a full-scale terra alert.

10. Want to add that I don't think there is a crisis.
I was just thinking that in the Bush/Cheney regime, the Swine Flu would have been utilized for propaganda reasons.

14. About the same? Obama even complimented Bush in his last news conference
for leaving him in a position to handle the problem effectively.

So I guess in instances like these, the Bush administration "succeeded" only in the sense that government worked the way it should, instead of being a massive failure.

Then he would have closed the boarder between Alaska and Candida just before he went on vacation to Crawford.
