Officer charged with striking 89 year old man during traffic stop
A Clay County grand jury has indicted an Oakview police officer who allegedly struck and injured an 89-year-old man during a traffic stop.

The officer, Kimberly A. Whyley, 38, of Kansas City, North, faces a charge of third-degree assault, a misdemeanor.

Whyley was indicted Tuesday afternoon and surrendered to authorities that evening. She posted $2,500 bond and is scheduled to be arraigned Thursday morning, according to court records.

According to authorities, the incident occurred Feb. 12 in a strip mall parking lot in the 6300 block of North Oak Trafficway.

The indictment alleges that Whyley struck the man, causing physical injury. The indictment contains no other details about the incident, and investigative reports in the case are under seal.

1. I hope the officer gets fired and worse.

But this will obviously lead to more cop bashing. There are shitty asshole cops everywhere. They aren't all shitty. We don't hear about the good things they do. That doesn't make the news.

3. When I was a kid there was an A-Hole cop that lived next to us.

I watched that guy beat his emaciated underfed, unloved German Sheppard dog for being frightened of him and wanting to get away.

I'm just glad that he was a cop in the next town over from us.

Yep. There are cop assholes everywhere, but it seems like they can just ride the wave and get away with shit because they wear a badge.

Edit...

In addition there have been two other cops that have lived on the street where I grew up: both as good as gold.

4. Even though she was indicted, we still have to hear both sides of the story.

6. I can't imagine how she can justify assaulting an 89 year old man
On the news, they said his wife was with him and was a witness. And he has already fled a lawsuit. I figure this cop had to do something wrong or she wouldn't have been arrested.

7. I agree, but it is the same as hearing both sides of the story. Not hearing

both sides of the story is equivalent to a posse.
