They used to scare me. Now, they're just idiot badges.

It helps that they self-identify. I can avoid them more easily.

I think that's actually how they want it -- to be left alone in fear and self-delusion.

9. IMO such displays mean there is no compromise that will satisfy the 15% plus or minus fringe of the

two major political parties.

Start with 4 to 6 divisive, polarizing political issues each with a following of 5% or so, add a discontented centrist group of voters who tilt either left or right based on the vagaries of the moment, and a candidate's handlers can win a presidential election.

Just anticipate which direction the centrist group of voters are heading, position their candidate in front and pronounce endlessly in sound-bites, "Follow Me, Follow Me".
