I hope that she's better soon. There is so much pollen here that if any of us had allergies we'd be in big trouble. It's raining so the pollen won't come flying through the windows, so they're up and it's much more pleasant in here.

She's good; she gets cold-like symptoms (dealing with her pollen allergies can make her feel tired, give her a runny nose). My nurse-practitioner pal said the key was to watch for a high fever in your family. No one has any. The pollen/air has been terrible out here in SoCal.

41. The middle child looked like hell this morning, climbed into my bed

(I was doing the usual watching c-span) and he said that he was aching all over, he was coughing and I had an 'oh f*^k' thought. His temp. never got above 100.8 which is low for them if they're really getting sick, but he's perked up and fever free. Whew.

Yeah, she said the fever has to be around 103 (or above) to mandate a 'go.'

Just her two cents' worth.

I think that routine colds & allegy-misery are going around, and that's making parents nuts.

59. Our standard with the pediatrician after mine were past

6 mos. was a fever of 103 would be seen in the office that day or sent through the ER with a call. Mine had a tendency to go from a slight fever to 105 within a hour or so, which freaked the pediatrician and those in the group out. Putting them in the tub and giving them ibuprofen when it became available over the counter would get them back down to 103, so we made many trips to the office or the ER late at night. They are like me, their regular temp. is below 98.6, but they've calmed down and don't spike those high fevers from out of no where anymore.

Considering that I've already lived longer than I ever thought that I would as a teenager, I think I'm doing pretty good. :evilgrin:

if my kid ever spiked a 105, I'd drop dead.

But, like in your case, ibuprofen is the best for our family.

I have an M.A. in Psychology (and was in social work for years). To me, sleep deprivation, which makes a person psychotic within 48 to 72 hours, is torture.

And the scene where the different factions of the military were fighting against each other under the sign "Peace is our business" never ceases to get howls of laughter, and our oldest was 9 when they first watched that movie, and the youngest one laughed.

My Mom, who loves Peter Sellers (sp?) had never seen this movie, and this was back in the day when the boys still wanted to do sleepovers with Grandma, and they took that movie over one weekend, and she thought it was hilarious, but she changed her mind about a few things, too.
