USA Today: Pet food may have killed scores more
The Food and Drug Administration has received more than 4,400 calls from pet owners about the recalled, contaminated dog and cat food that has reportedly sickened and injured animals across the USA.

But the agency has yet to follow up on the calls, so it doesn't know how many represent sick animals or simply concerned owners, says Stephen Sundlof, director of FDA's Center for Veterinary Medicine.

1. My mom takes wonderful care of her pets
However, in the last year, two of her cats have died of intestinal problems.
She feeds them premium cat food--wet and dry.
I haven't even had the heart to discuss with her if she thinks that tainted pet food could be the reason her cats died--and they suffered tremendously and ran up thousands of dollars in vet bills.
I have my own suspicions though.
