Middies power napping
No comments, I just found this to be an interesting picture.
These are future naval officers grabbing a quick 40--apparently a great Anapolis tradition.

5. You are so off base there!

This was actually taken while they were waiting for Bush to show up and speak. ;)

And like the poster below points out, it's not uncommon for folks in the service to get mustered out for an even far far too early for it to do them any good.

2. Let's be fair.
With no information about the picture, you can only speculate.

I know from my brother's Army experience that:

The General would say report by 10:00
The Colonel would say report by 9:45, so you're definitely on time, but not tell the next level that it was really 10:00.

Continue down to the privates.

My brother would be forced to show up and sit in place for 2-3 hours because different people above them wanted to make sure they were on time.

But, they are Navy, and so my bias would lead me to think they're just lazy. :-) KIDDING!!!

4. When I was at Girls' State
(a.k.a. Nazi Cheerleading Camp from Hell, one of the more degrading experiences of my life - but that's for another thread), they taught us some stealth sleeping techniques so we could catch a quick nap during one of the many speeches, since we were kept busy with ridiculous informative governmental activities from about 6:30 or 7 AM until usually well after midnight every day. Good times. :sarcasm:
