immoral, sadistic...what the hell is the difference between the monsters who legally? committed these acts and jeffrey dahmer...or the millions of guys sitting in prison for acts like these?....there is no difference...Anyone who defends it or tries to justify in anyway, including pundits, talking heads are equally guilty ...each and every one needs to be called out...I am sick that I live in a society with these people...

1. I like Stewart's explanation.
We are not going to prosecute Americans for doing things that when the Japanese did them in WWII, we executed them for committing crimes against humanity.

2. while i'm at it..is "lets look forward" a defense strategy for criminals now?
that was then, this is now..and we've changed..or the criminals have seen the light..bullcrap...a crime is a crime..even if someone ordered me to do any of these things, i would refuse...REFUSE....

i'm sure everyone sitting in a criminal trial would like to just look forward..sweep the murder or rape or torture under the rug as if it didnt happen..i thought it couldnt be worse but everday there is some other outrage..something despicable enacted upon another living being...unfathomable..

3. Whatelse can you call it:(
I think the evidence pretty clearly shows we had these people, we were using normal interrogation techniques on them, we obtained valuable information from these people, we then started to torture them anyways. What's the point of torturing someone you already are getting information from other than for the sick immoral sadistic joy of doing it? The general thought is the Bush administration tortured because a) they wanted false information to cover their lies and you don't get that from normal interrogation techniques b) they wanted simple revenge c) they are sick sadistic people. It's not clear that all three of these reason aren't correct.
