The reason Dick Cheney is opening his Big Pie Hole...
is because he was the leader of the "torture" brigade. It's CYA time for Dick. It is understandable why the CIA leaders and Dick Cheney were against releasing the memos. They are wrong. The President is right.

1. K&R It is understandaable that Cheney et. al. want to do damage control but
it is not understandable why the President is willing to grant, carte blanche, their amnesty by not going FORWARD to investigate and prosecute.

12. When he said in the last couple of days that it is "a time for
reflection, not retribution". He might as well have used the word amnesty. imho

Updated: Heard at today's daily press briefing that the President has couched his remarks somewhat and the press critters noted the difference between what he and Rahm have been saying and what he said today. Some accused him of folding to MoveOn.org pressure. Basically, as I undersstand today's message, the President is not ruling out going after those that devised the torture methods....obviously different than what Rahm said on Sunday.

2. Doug Feith, Scooter Libby and Mary Matalin were part of it, too. War criminals.
And they were all being protected by the newsmedia and a few powerful Democrats.

3. This is another attempt by Cheney
to convince us that hanging people from ceiling chains for two or three days is no big deal because it produces results. Just like letting citizens of the Ninth Ward drown in their attics produced results. Just like denying a death row inmate a DNA test to prove his innocence gets results.

We`re results oriented, we are. Just look at what happened as a result of Shock and Awe.

10. We're supposed to believe BOTH that it works AND that it's nothing but fraternity hazing.

It's not really "torture" ('cause we don't do that). Uh-huh. The right wing is criminally insane.

4. Yup, all this handshaking crap is the diversion
problem is their old tactics don't work anymore and they have no more ideas so they are just throwing shit at the wall hoping to get people to look the other way.

6. Freudian slip or deliberate wordplay?
Wouldn't 'Hand-waving" be the term for excited, hyperbolic utterances?

And wouldn't "handshaking" be indicative of the state of fear that an evil coward would exhibit when he feels the noose metaphorically closing around his corrupt neck?

9. We can only hope that it will bring his downfall. Because if it doesn't
it's a GUARANTEE that the next time a corrupt administration gains power they'll make this gang look MEEK.

11. There seems to be some small chance his role will be exposed.
Further exposed, I mean. I can't believe he's seriously worried about prosecution, but perhaps he feels his 19% approval rating is endangered?
