Liberals have Failed America.

Bluntly, we have nearly half the country who either a) can't read, b) can't think, or c) flunked/dropped out of high school to the point where they don't understand

THE CONSTITUTION AND GOVERNMENT OF THE UNITED STATES.

And since we are the party that believes in educating the masses, this is obviously our fault.

Half of the country does not understand 'diplomacy'. They do not understand 'nuance.' They do not understand the purpose of government as providing service to the people (meaning them), run by them, accountable to them, FOR THEM. They do not get that they aren't members of the Rich 100 Families, and actually will see Tax Cuts, Jobs, and improvements to their local infrastructure under the current administration.

Most of them don't even know what the hell "infrastructure" means.

They are incapable of critical thinking when listening to Right Wing Nonsense (and sometimes left, to be fair).

And they are a public embarrassment before the rest of the world.

Water boarding. Warrant-less wire tapping. Poisoned tomatoes, spinach, peanut products, etc. New Orleans. Health care for only the rich/employed. Homeless children. 10% unemployment in More Than Michigan.

Liberals have ruined America because we didn't make sure that they were educated in high school to NOT be idiots. And furthermore, we didn't make sure they knew to SHUT THE F*CK UP before talking like idiots in public.

I am going to make the following pledge: whenever I am confronted with an idiot who starts spouting off on right wing talking points without having a flaming clue as to what the words they are saying actually mean (and yes, I have some of these folks in my life), I am going to immediately inquire as to whether they flunked/dropped out of high school, and then explain to them that if they had paid attention in school, they wouldn't sound like total idiots.

Whenever one of those stupid right wing e-mails is forwarded to me, I am going to start sending excerpts from a high school civics text book back, explaining that since they missed that day in school, its time they actually read it.

Yes, its insulting to rub reality into the noses of the foolish, but I am ready to move on to the next stage of cleaning up the disaster that letting idiots be in charge has caused -- and yes, for me that includes prosecution of crimes, since I don't think 'ignorance of the law' (Geneva convention included) is an excuse for crimes-against-humanity.

And just as a reminder:

"We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America."

6. Okay, I love the textbook idea
In fact one of my book ideas is "High School For Dummies", or everything every high school graduate ought to know. Like the difference between "lose" and "loose" for chrissake. And of course, where the budget really goes, the history of the filibuster, how to discern fact from opinion, all that good stuff.

But responding to people with info from a textbook, instead of a newspaper, might well be the way to get them to accept facts they otherwise choose to ignore.

We have people in the streets. exemplified by mainstream media garbage such as "Cam'ron", who can't be bothered to call the cops when they see a crime. What a slimeball. Anybody else recall his presence on "60 Minutes"? What an antisocial scumbag. He thinks it's "snitching". At some point, it's more than just something toddlers in a sandbox do, "sir"...

Then don't bitch about the crime. Maybe "Cam'ron" will be next. Ironic if that actually happens.

If I see reckless driving on the highway, I call 911.

It really can be as simple as that. Even just calling the authorities is a start. If there's a logical reason, the driver from my reckless driving call-in can explain. If the driver is drunk or stoned or willfully trying to cause harm, the driver gets locked up.



On edit: "Accidents" is a non-sequitur as said driver is being malicious. "Accidents" cannot apply as a term. My error.

let's face it, rw talking points are simple points (people taking your money is badddddddd), don't take a lot of thought. i think they are basically just lazy (still pretty bad)

I wonder where it is written where education has to be "easy and fun". I'm sure I've never seen it. Not sure why this should be of any concern to you.

Its only half sarcasm. An educated populace is a liberal dream, as we believe that educated people make better decisions/problem solve.

Unfortunately, we've got folks who can't distinguish between fact vs. opinion. (And to be fair, my posting is pure opinion!) LOL!

I think they understand it just fine. They simply don't want to follow it because they would rather live in a pseudo-religious dictatorship. It makes it easier for them to pick on the people they don't like if they don't have to treat people as if they have rights under the law.

Which is enough for those tainted most by (Consumerist) American culture. Also it's not just that the education system failed them, but their whole family who raises them as rethugs from day 1. You can't fight that easily.
