It's maddening, maddening.
Impeach Bybee? Prosecute Yoo? Bail out the wealthy with money extracted from the working class?

Which of these things will get under way this year? I have no clue. Sometimes I think it would be better to go down and live in the root cellar for the next 6 months and then emerge and see how many of my daydreams and my nightmares have materialized, and how many turned to vapor.

1. don't worry..it's not going to get any better...
why should it? That whole 'bottom thing' is dead in the water. We freely give up any power we have to the very few we elect. I think expecting something different is like looking to get an apple from a pear tree.

2. I think it is more important that we impeach Susan Boyle from GD right now.

6. Of course not.
I don't think we even have that HD stuff in the living room. I never watch TV, but I think we have some kind of satellite thingie that my wife occasionally uses to watch garden shows or something. We have this cabinet with a TV-looking thing in there, but I don't even know how to open the cabinet, much less turn it on, whatever it is.

4. Obama is a negotiated solution.
The dictater in charge was so unpopular, both here and abroad, that the Powers that Be actually let us have our election results maintained.

But the deals were done before the new WH resident ever stepped foot inside the Oval Office.

Thus we have the economic policies that are more or less what Bush himself would have given us.
Nothing in those policies wil shore u

And we are told "Nothing to See" here by Rahm, when we ask that we act like a nation of laws. a nation of laws.

7. That first paragraph comes across especially ridiculous.
Dictators don't need to be liked. Either by native populations or those in foreign countries.

The rest of your response is more palatable conjecture, but that first line, "The dictater(sic) in charge was so unpopular, both here and abroad, that the Powers that Be actually let us have our election results maintained", is about as goofy as they come. Bad spelling and all.

10. It' s not my line. It's a line from a very famous man,
Edited on Sun Apr-19-09 10:02 PM by truedelphi
One who gave up his comfortable lifestyle to help the poor and oppressed across the Latin Americas.

His name was Che Guevara.

And I imagine that he understood power a lot better than most of us do

ON EDIT: Actually the line is my line. The thinking is that of Che's. He studied the nations of South America - many of them that transitioned from odious dictator and then to populist reformer candidate. the USA always let the "popular reform candidate" assume power, if they could make a deal.

Otherwise they let some friend or family member close to the original dictator have the position. There was one and only one exception - Allende. And we all know how that turned out.

5. You could spend decades in the root cellar and when you come out
criminals with power will still be getting away with murder and peons like us will go to jail for smoking a joint.
There is no real justice. We have been screwed and be continue to be screwed.

9. What doesn't kill one......makes one stronger.
Sometimes we need to have patience and walk softly but (beat back) carrying a big stick on our Congress which is where the real problem is and always has been.

It's not Obama...it's many in our Party who need to hear from us louder than ever. Just saying....
