1. Just got done watching it

I taped it earlier and yes, it was excellent. Never heard of The Wire. I don't have HBO.

4. One of HBO's best

I believe it is on DVD now.

It profiled the hood and the drug trade in Baltimore. 5 seasons, each with a different focus.

It is one of those shows where you like the bad guys as well as the good guys. Just brilliant writing.

6. I wouldn't normally do this, but go buy the full set of all the season episodes

You can get it on DVD, my son has a set. The scene they showed about "Snot-boogie" having been shot for stealing the proceeds from a crap game - that is the opening scene from the 1st episode. From it to the last, it is clearly the best television program ever aired. Oh, and the other one they mention - "The Corner" is just about as good - in fact possibly better, but it focuses entirely on the view from the addict. Watch them both. They are enlightening as well as entertaining and just plain dam good use of television.
