Just Got off the Phone w/ NUTRO - Dry Dog Food...
I had a very nice lady Irene, who told me that there is NO NUTRO DRY FOOD that will be recalled. She said that ALL of NUTRO dry food is made by them in their 2 plants (owned by NUTRO)and that they have done an audit of the content of the food and see nothing that would be suspect.

She also pointed out that the web is teaming with misinformation right now. So I urge you to take the time to look up the maker of your DRY food and call them.

Guys I worry about my 5 critters (3 cats 2 dogs) so I took the time to make a phone call.

3. Royan Canin has had big problems with toxic levels of Vitamin D
in some of their pet food.

5. Yes, in their prescription pet food - not the mainstream stuff
Edited on Fri Mar-30-07 02:34 PM by LynneSin
and if you google Royal Canin you'll see their press release about what was affected and what was done. All the affected cans were pulled off the shelf

My cats have been on Royal Canin for years and they both just glow!

Edit note: Here is the press release

13. And as I posted many times - with their prescription pet food NOT regular
and it was dealt with back in 2006. Somewhere I posted the press release from Royal Canin.

4. Nutro's Max Cat has ALWAYS been at the top of my recommended list, FWIW.

7. Mine too until I found out that the CEO was a bushbot
Sorry-the product was good but I won't support a red company

8. My Dogs health transcends politics. I want what is best for my beast.
I do not care if the best vet in my area is KARL ROVE, I would still take my animals to him.

Fact is, you can not get away from RED things, so I do not play politics with my cats and dogs...

11. Yes but with Royal Canin I get the best of both
A neutral company (they have made no political contributions) and one of the better quality cat foods available for pets. Yes, RC did have the issue with the Vitamin D which they addressed and pulled from the market but Nutro had their issue too.

So knowing that I'm dealing with two higher end pet foods which tastes my cats enjoy I'll pick blue (or Neutral) over red any day of the week.

And I do the same for myself.

And if Karl Rove was the best vet available I'd be looking for #2 since I know that Karl Rove is a lying sack of shit that will say anything and put anyone at risk for political gain.

10. Whatever. I am gonna put my kitties' health before any political beefs,
but that's the way I am.

The babies come FIRST.

12. I'm not sure how I'm doing that?
I mean, Royal Canin had an issue with their prescription pet food which they dealt with many months ago. Anytime you have any kind of recall with any product out there - there are always risks of lawsuits. I'm sure Menu Foods will have plenty of their own lawsuits popping up throughout the next year.

When all things are equal, which I would say with the quality of Nutro and Royal Canin, I will always go with a blue company first. My cats love the food and I feel I'm not supporting a Bushbot.

14. Nutro is fine, I love Max Cat. Royal Canin I have less experience with.
