Does anyone have the clip of Barney Frank at Harvard Monday night?

Scarborough was showing it today on MJ and I only saw the very end of it. Barney got asked a question about Fannie and Freddie from some RW student. Scar said Barney didn't answer the question and the whole panel "agreed" including that idiot Harold Ford, Jr. What a waste he is as a Dem spokesperson.

3. Barney (one of my heroes) needs to expect to be HOUNDED like this and needs

to formulate an ANSWER to head it off each time, or else they will soon have him on the run out of town.

4. I just watched it and don't see what all the fuss is about.

I think people like to watch officials being challenged, which is fine. But I don't see the problem with Frank's answers.

6. I was complicated. We always lose in this kind of exchange, altho I think Barney

tried to get at what the student was asking. It was a truly loaded question and Barney clearly doesn't like to get needled on it. The student gave his pose away when he started talking about what Barney "did" or "let happen" during the first bailout period when the Bush admin. was still in power.

The only thing Barney needs to do, imo, is tighten up his response and make it more succinct.

7. The fuss is about wingnuts O'LOOFAH & SCAB instigating goons to HOUND him

and eventually to bring him down. He needs to get a solid answer ready because this is going to happen everywhere he goes. The answer would be for him to talk about the "Mortgage Reform" Act of 2000 that the Rethugs in charge ramrodded through in CLINTON's last days in office and he signed.

What's wrong with Barney's response here was that he beat around the bush, used ad hominem, and tried distraction instead of being concrete.

I do NOT want to see him being Dan RATHERed.

8. Yes, he needs to be less defensive. Perhaps a "message" expert could

help him simplify his response. He gets bogged down in detail which is hard to follow. Also, the student used a bait and switch tactic himself and Barney called him on it. Barney looks to need cooler. His excitability makes people nervous...
