1. We just had some good rain, here...
Mild temperatures. I was pretty excited to start enjoying my garden, and digging into the local produce again. It's been a loooong winter.

3. Not much,
This is simply hysterical over reaction. I live in rural Missouri, and none of the farmers around here have put in anything yet. About the worst that is going to happen is some over eager gardeners are going to lose their lettuce and other early planting veggies. But as far as commercial crops, nada.

6. Yeah, I was going to say it's usually May before planting here.
We've always followed the Mother's Day rule of thumb for our planting. I've only seen a few fields that have even been partially tilled. Most still have last years stubble.

7. I'll cancel my hysterectomy.
But I better see plenty of Indiana cantaloupes this summer.

4. I was wondering the same thing. Most of the midwest is
zone 5 or lower, planting doesn't start until May.

11. Michigan is probably the biggest fruit producer in the Midwest, but
this is too early for any blossoms up there. It's my home area, and nothing much will happen until at least early May, if not later.
